The atmosphere in the downstairs pub is unbeatable, the service is great as is the food. It has a very friendly and comfortable feel. Leave room for sticky toffee pudding if you can! We felt comfortable lingering for a good while and had a great time.

This was a great little visit to an old building with lots of character. We each had home made burgers and they were excellent. My son had the Sheppard's pie and it looked good. All in all great place with great food and reasonably priced.

Henry House boasts inside and outside seating in this very old building with tons of character. Seafood chowder ($13) in heavy cream base can be as good as it gets depending on who is cooking that day. I say this as one time there were only a few small potato cubes and the second time, potatoes made up half the... More

Sat down for a few pints with some fellow travellers. I tried the Chaval Blanc and the Oatmeal Stout, both very tasty and decently price. A couple of my friends tried the samplers and really liked each one. I liked how the old stones poked through the walls, they gave off a really cool atmosphere. Our server was very friendly... More

I only went for a nice microbrew beer. The atmosphere is that of a British Pub. Really relaxing, nice level of pub noise and music. I understand the food is good, but we didn't eat there... I save that for another night. Servers and bartenders are friendly and attentive.

Very nice, very British style pub. The chicken an leek pie was great. Pasties are just OK., but the calamari was chewy. The gravy is superb. Beer on tap is a very good variety. Overall a good lunch and priced reasonably.

Ate here recently with some friends from the US. Ages in the group ranged from 3 years old to pushing 60. Everyone found something they liked even our gluten sensitive friend. The menu isn't extensive but it is all good, tasty food. The prices are very reasonable and the onsite and brought in craft beer menu is excellent. There is... More

Wanted something close to the hotel, casual and outdoor seating. Fortunately, within a short walking distance of the hotel, there was Henry House, a historic site with good food and atmosphere.

We were hungry after a day's travel and this eatery was near the Halifax Hostel. It was recommended by some hostel guests. Very good food and local beers. Ordinary pub service but pretty quiet (older partons) and a nice view as we sat at a windown. Knowledgeable waiter helped with our city travels.
