Most of my stories began at the Alehouse. Such a fun time, live bands, great music, great food, great location.

We arrived at the Halifax Alehouse 9pm Sunday night, looking for Karaoke. We were greeted by some very friendly bartenders! They told us it started at midnight, we were sure if we could make it til then, but we did and it was so worth it! The drinks are poured nice and chill, the beer is great and the cider... More

We stopped in on our first night in Halifax and had a an early family dinner. The building is old and historic, and the ambiance inside was fun and old-timey. Our waitress was dressed in an old-fashioned bar-maid dress. The food was decent and we took advantage of a great appetizer and pitcher of Keith's special. As it turned out,... More

We have been here before and enjoyed this old historic bar...not so this time. We walked in and there was not one patron on a busy shopping weekend. Two wait staff were on their cell phones and did not greet us right away. The tables are in dire need of re finishing. Everything is old ,drab and in need of some... More

We stopped in to catch the end of the World Series game 7 because the pub we were at was closing already and the Alehouse was still open until 4:00am. We watched the game however the band was still playing so you couldn't hear the game. Overall a nice place to get a drink and if you want live music... More

31 taps and a decent menu plus stage for live music. Old building (built in 1893), with a cool interior. Outside seating, which is kewl cuz most patios are closed everywhere else. Waitress's rock the classic dresses, despite the very old interior there are televisions; also VLT's in the back. Don't bother with the wings. First visit here so as... More

Felt like we chose the wrong menu item. Just stopped in for a beer and thought we'd try the spinach artichoke dip. It was....meh. Service ok, waitress had just started working there.

Great tap selection with good food to compliment the drinks. Sorry I was only here for lunch since the band stage had some serious gear ready to go!
