The title says it all! Real authentic Jamaican patties, jerk chicken, curried goat (don't knock it till you try it!) Been searching for REAL Jerk chicken close to home for a couple years and finally found it in the north end of Halifax. a year ago I landed in Montego Bay and had the driver pull over to the 1st... We had the Roti w curried chicken and the jerk chicken plate. The Roti was too dry for my liking and not enough flavour. But the jerk chicken was very spicy and the side of cooked cabbage was nice. We got there near closing so it was reheated and not fresh. Will go earlier next time.

I live in Saint John, NB & i'm willing to drive HOUR just to come to this place. Let's face it. The food does not look pretty or fancy, it's street food & AMAZING food. I tried jerk chicken in Toronto which was also amazing. I wish they had a place like this in Saint John, NB or even Fredericton.... More

Have you had Jamaican or island food from a roadside grill? Then you'll know what to expect. The Novalea Drive location is really a take out as it only has a window bar with 4 stools. You aren't here for the ambiance however, that is back at the Shoe Shop. What you are here for is authentic food. Now it... More

This is *not* the place to impress your date, or celebrate an anniversary. Consider it a lunch cafe. Plus: *The food is authentic and very good. *It's popular. Minus: *The service is mediocre and amateur (took a while to clean our table, meal arrived with only one set of cutlery - had to fetch a 2nd set myself from another... More

I had tried jerk chicken before at another restaurant in Fredericton and was very disappointed. I went to the one at the Discovery Center. Was this jerk chicken the prettiest meal I ever saw? Heck no, but it did have an authentic street food feel. I even ate some of the boiled cabbage and I hate cabbage. It was spicy... More

We had a hard time finding it , it was so small, we thought it was a take out. Since it was part of the discovery center and you had to pay admission, we didn't know if we we allowed to eat at the tables between the two.The girl at the counter was helpfull picking out stuff , but then... More

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch today. We drive by this place a lot, but never managed to check it out until today. The restaurant is a simple cafe, decorated with bright colours and Jamaican flag accents. It's located in the Hydrostone area of Halifax and there's a nice view of the park across the street. We ordered... More
