Had a terrific chicken pot pie, cup of coffee and maple cake for dessert. All was very good. I'll go back when I'm in Digby next.

It seems to have a new name. We read the reports and we were excited to go but when we got there thought we must be in the wrong place. They make their own bread and may have a loaf or two for sale but that's the extent of it. Sobey's bakery is better go there!

I Miss Mag Pyes, it used to be a great little place with wired hours and incredible baking, meals, and staff. Sadly, after eating here twice this week, I have to say the new place, at same location, pales in comparison. Apparently Mag Pyes sold & closed about 6 weeks ago! Sad Day For Digby, and I most definitely miss... More

In the same address as the former Mag Pye's, the 5-week old 1783's Eatery & Bakery is off to a strong start. My husband and I stopped in for an early lunch. We both had the chicken pot pie - which I haven't had in probably 20 years - but it was outstanding. No filler, just fresh ingredients like grandma... More

Apparently the restaurant just changed hands. When we went in, they had only been open a few days and had limited choices. I had steak pie and my husband had chicken pie. Both were terrific. The crusts were light and flaky with hearty fillings. They were accompanied by a huge piece of bread that was light as a feather. Blueberry... More

Renamed but I couldn't find the new name on Trip Advisor. Outstanding food and super friendly service. The first day we had a cinnamon roll fresh out of the oven. It was heavenly - huge and no raisins! Perfection. The breakfast sandwich was also delicious and all reasonably priced. They will package to go as well if you are in... More

Went looking for Mag Pye's but wasn't at that address, however, the 1783 was. It serves breakfasts and lunches and pastries. Didn't try the coffee. Delicious sandwiches - we had ham and cheese with fresh homemade bread, couldn't be sliced before 11:30 am. Melted in your mouth. Coupled with a small eclair, just the right size, not too big to... Closed! No sign of the place at all. Google maps says it's permanently closed. We couldn't find it at all so we went back to pre-iPhone days and asked someone! Yes, it's closed but reopened as 1783 Bakery. See my entry there.

They should call it the "Ex-Calorie Counter," because that's what you'll be thirty seconds after walking in. Warm sticky buns just out of the oven. Perfect blueberry muffins. Lemon tarts with excellent lemon curd - not the fake stuff. Little chicken pot pies. Homemade American (Canadian?) chop suey. The coffee is just super. We had breakfast here, stopped in for... More

I'm sure if u just wanted a quick emery boost this would be a great place. I just wanted a nice warm drink to walk the water with. But I got a shot of a drink that I couldn't drink. My man got the same and a cinnamon bun. He loved the bun and stomached the drink.
