We were in Antigonish for one night and ate at the Townhouse. We ordered burgers and green salads. When my plate arrived, it had more protein on it than I ordered. Crawling on my salad dressing cup was a caterpillar and also caterpillar poop on the green leaves. Well I like nature but that was too much. When I pointed... More

We have visited several times and always make a point of having a meal at The Townhouse. The atmosphere is lively, the staff are engaging and fun. The food is delicious. And they make excellent beer right on the premises. I had the porter this time and it was the perfect pairing with my bangers and mash!

This restaurant was a real find. The owner and her partner were working behind the bar the night we ate there and they were very friendly ,hospitable and gave great service. The food was so good. We were delighted to have found this gem of a pub during our travels through NS. The service was excellent, the food was above the board for a pub, delicate and delicious and the prices were appropriate. Thank you for the great memories!

We stopped here for a beer mid afternoon and liked it so much we went back for dinner. We were not disappointed. Service was great friendly and helpful and I had the peanut noodle salad with peanut chicken and it was delicious.

This pub brews its own Yorkshire Bitter, and it took me back to drinking pints in the snug at the Albert in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The range and selection of beers and wines is excellent and best of all it has a raw bar too.

The Townhouse is a lively fun place to eat. We were surrounded by college kids and their parents as they were moving in for the year. The service is friendly and nice. The food is only average. they had nice drinks and do have outside seating.

By far the most delicious locally derived food in northeastern Nova Scotia. The food is prepared to order so be patient, it's worth it!

Love this pub! Regular menu items are all great! Specials are a very interesting fusion mix usually. Love the atmosphere!! Servers are great! The closest thing you will come to a quaint Irish pub west of Ireland! Especially if you are lucky enough to be there when there is entertainment, though not always Irish music.

Description
The Townhouse is a cozy, neighbourhood pub, focused on great Nova Scotian craft beer, and fresh, local food. We have 9 taps of NS microbrews, including our own Terry's Best Bitter, brewed upstairs, cask-conditioned, and served on a traditional hand pump. Our guest tap changes regularly, featuring one-offs & seasonal brews from breweries across the province. Our eclectic menu starts with the best local, seasonal products from the area - from seafood to root veggies - and offers them up in traditional and un-traditional ways! Our young chef, Jacob Buckley, and our kitchen staff take great pride in making all of our food - breads, desserts, pates, pickles, spice mixes, dressings, and chutneys - from scratch, in house. You'll find old world pub favourites like the Ploughman's Lunch or Fisherman's Pie, rustic taverna fare (Portugese Salt Cod Fritters, Tapas boards, oysters on the half shell), and globally inspired casual foods (Mexican Pizza, Baharat Lamb Burger, and our daily curry special). We are fast becoming famous for our ultra-rich Lobster Chowder and Polish Cheesecake. Although inspired by the neighbourhood pubs of the UK and Ireland, the Antigonish community and our wonderful regulars give the pub it's real colour and relaxed, friendly atmosphere.Weekly events include live jazz, a Sunday Roast and an excellent Irish traditional music session.
