This place got caught serving Frozen Perch from Kazakhstan as Great Slave Lake Pickerel ($33). That tells you pretty much everything you need to know.... you can look up the article yourself, it made the CBC News.

This was a cafe at one time, but has long been closed. Now, it is simply a historical site, see the attached plaque.

The Cafe is in a really nice, really old building. We went there for lunch and it was good food. We ate a buffalo wrap and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, even when we ordered all the meals with special wishes.

I came here for a late lunch and it was quite busy with a group tour just coming in shortly after us. The waiter was friendly, answered our questions, and took our order. Our food came in a timely manner. I had the bison burger, which i liked quite a bit. The meat was juicy and flavourful, just the way... More

Good food and cold beer and not too bad of prices for this far out of the way place. It's small so we shared a table which we enjoy as it gives you a chance to meet other people. Not as rustic on the inside as I had imagined, but that's not bad. Very friendly and helpful.

We ate brunch on the patio and had the bison skillet. It was approx $20 per plate and it was delicious! The historic aspect of the restaurant really made the visit though and worthy of the 5 rating. Service was great. Beautiful view on the patio (picnic tables). If you go to Yelloknife, you should definitely plan to try this... More

I recently visited wildcat. The historical significance of the restaurant was not lost on me. A knowledgeable waitress explained some of the history which she made a point of knowing of the building explaining that the wild cat had been restored twice since the original design. Once in the 1970's and once in the last few years. A wonderful landmark... More
