If I lived in St John's, this would be my local. I spent a few evening here during a recent trip and enjoyed each time I was there. A different local musical act as on each night I was there and I enjoyed each of them. The staff was friendly and the locals enjoyable to speak with. As must stop... More

Went here last night, was my 1st time but won't be my last. Everything was great here. Food was delicious and came rather quickly after we ordered. Drinks where good. Our bartender/waitress was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Excellent spot and one spot I suggest anyone coming to St.John's who wants to go out to a bar... More

This was a cosy place to have lunch, with great drinks and live music. There is a very strong Gaelic presence in Newfoundland, with settlers from Ireland and Scotland - as well as Viking settlers from over 100 years ago.

Shamrock City is in my opinion the best bar in downtown St. John's. They have the best staff you won't find the service anywhere else I guarantee you. The best entertainment too you are guaranteed to have a good time.

Shamrock Website stated Shanneygannock was playing at 11pm. We were expecting them to start playing at 11pm as advertised. We got there and they were already playing and played till 12. Someone at the pub said that they started at 10 pm. Copy of the website below. Very disappointed. Paid $20 to hear Shanneygannock play for one hour due to... More

My husband and I were in St John's for 5 days and ended up eating supper here twice. We enjoyed the atmosphere and music as well as the food. We ate fairly early both times and did not get to hear the daily live music, although there was Irish music being played which added to the experience. The food is... More

Carl Peters. If you're in town when he's playing, you shouldn't miss this place. Good drinks, good service, awesome atmosphere. Party central. I visited twice in two nights and was not disappointed. What a great time! This is what Newfoundland is all about.

Great local and Irish fare with great service. Live music nightly featuring the best of Newfounland folk and Irish musicians. Owned by D'Arcy Broderick, formerly of Irish Descendents and Fables bands.
