We got into here at 1 p.m. and wasn't too busy so we figured staff would be a hoppin'. Not so. I ordered the chipotle hamburg and it was very good, but the service was slow all around us for refills/drinks/getting our bills. Maybe the staff was out all last night partying and was tired. No use to complain. It... More

We had spent the day on the Irish loop, and when we returned to St. John's we felt like hearing some music. Shamrock City Pub advertises music every night, so we decided this was the place. I cannot speak to the food, since we had already eaten, but finding a seat was a challenge. The pub was small, and very... More

Might have just caught it at a bad time but the live music was on a break and the customers were... Raucous. If that's what you like this is the place for you! Food is of the deep fried pile it high and sell it cheap variety.

The pan fried cod was adequate. The chicken stir fry was delicious. The music was loud and perhaps too loud. The atmosphere was authentic and welcoming.

Popped in here for a few beers and a quick snack for Sunday afternoon. Second part of the snack never arrived. Some local beers were good quality. Prefer to drink my Guinness back in Ireland but there are a number of types if you feel homesick! Evening time there is often an entry charge because of live music.

We sat ourselves down and despite there being few patrons in the pub no servers came to our table to take our order for beer and dinner. We decided to get up and leave without any offers of help from either of the bar tenders or 3-4 servers. They were not serving anyone else just chit chatting among themselves or... More

We came to this restaurant after a boat tour and to try and get rid of the chill. Soup was adequate, bread was soggy because soup spilled all over it. Service and food was adequate. Would not return here again. If you're looking to have a beer then maybe this is is okay but not for a meal.

This is a really cool Irish Pub. We were there on a Friday night and there was fantastic live music. Prices are decent, Guiness is cold. Never ate there though ...

Stopped in for a pint and some music, stayed for some fish and chips. We were entertained by a father/son duo who did their best to supply me with some lovely celtic and Newfoundland music. Had a strong Ian Tyson sound!! Food was fine and the service was very good...a pleasant young man who made time to tell us a... More

As a regular, this pub has to be the one to visit for any traveler who wants to see NL at its best. (in the downtown scene). Busy every night, I have met folks from all across Canada and the United States. Full on Music all night every night.
