After seeing the reviews for Bacalao, we were excited to try this restaurant. However, it was so very disappointing. We waited an hour and forty minutes for our meals- the service was beyond sluggish and inadequate. Our server even stopped coming to our table to continue pouring us lukewarm water and our bottle of "Blu" wine that the menu described... More

My wife was disappointed, she ordered a plate with gnocchi, unfortunately there was only 3 pieces!! It's for sure overpriced, and not so friendly.

I enjoyed the fresh pan seared cod which was fabulous. But a 4 ounce portion left me hungry for more. The prices are high. The atmosphere is nice. No one cared to fix my wobbly table.

Meals here are not the usual huge piece of fish often cod and fries. We found it interpreting the local food with a modern lighter flare. Local seasonal ingredients was apparent. We enjoyed the lightness of the food compared to many of the restaurants serving quantity before quality.

I asked for a hot cup of water as I was cold after walking in the rain and coming from the windy Signal Hill. Since we came from the West Coast, our reservation was at 7:30pm. Not long after we were there some of the dinners started to leave and we got undivided attention from our servers. I had appetizer... More

I've enjoyed afternoon tea twice at Bacalao, and it was lovely on each occasion. Our servers were amiable, and the atmosphere was welcoming and easy-going. The food was fabulous.

Walkable from downtown, nice space inside. Waitstaff was oddly absentminded and screwed up twice ... but rectified things. Portions were adequate and starters and mains were well- prepared; desserts slightly less-so, regrettably. Options were varied and unusual - seal (gag me) and game (yum) were available.

Went to the dinner last night 26 Jun 2016. This restaurant was the featured chef to provide the meal. It was horrible. They salad course was tosses greens with a croquet of goat cheese and 3 pieces of beets and a TINY amount of dressing, the main dish was a veg hash of tiny cubes of turnip, carrot and lots... More

Our group of six came for Sunday dinner. We ordered four different dishes. None was good. The chicken was burnt, the lobster overcooked, the cod is soggy, and the steak is just plain. It’s a shame for the prices they charge.

Very good meal. Excellent service. Cold fish cake was tasty but bit bland. Duck tasty with broccolini and potato. Very nice fennel salad and the cod was quite fresh
