Made a reservation based on reviews and was looking forward to eating. Stopped at the bar for a beer first and was served a glass that clearly had just been cleaned with a bleach solution. Decided to adjust and ordered a bottle of wine. The bartender served me in a just washed glass, still dripping wet. My face must have... More

I have been to Saint John Ale House quite a few nights. During the week, it is a more quiet, relaxed to semi-formal environment where you can sit, have drinks and grab a bite to eat (which is always delicious). The upstairs and downstairs components of the restaurant provide enough of a separation depending on the kind of experience you... More

Sample one of 30 or 40 craft brews - many of which are local - served by knowledgeable bar staff. Very good seasonal and local fare.

My daughter insisted that we go to the Saint John Ale House to try this 35-day aged steak. She had heard of it from a friend and wanted to try it. That night we ordered deep-fried zucchini flowers and shared the 35-day aged steak. The flowers were very good and very tasty. You could easily identify the smoked sausage that... More

Great pub for lunch or dinner. We had the bacon wrapped scallops to start and fish n chip dinners. The haddock was so fresh and the batter was very thin. Excellent! The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the chicken fingers for kids; although delicious they were quite spicy! Our son didn't eat it. Great selection of beers and wine.... More

We grabbed a table on the wharf where we could listen to the music, and looked at the menus quickly. This one caught our eye -- something for our little person, and something that appealed to us too. Wow. It was fantastic. We shared a mixed board of local cheeses, charcuterie, olives, and bread. It was an excellent value --... More

I did enjoy my meal at this Ale House, by making a few personal changes to menu selection. I was very pleased with the wait staff trying to accommodate my request, however the presensation left a lot to be desired. We had several people in our party and we found the menu was a bit limited, was not too impressed... More

The best French Fries I have ever had! We were just traveling through and stopped for lunch. Trouble finding parking; GPS wanted us to turn down the street that is closed for pedestrian use only. But panic short-lived, there's a big parking lot just down the street and practically adjacent. It was a cold, windy, rainy day, so nobody was... More

This is an excellent pub with good quality beer selection and well prepared meals. I had haddock and fries and went quite well with the beer. Atmosphere is good and animated. Service very good.

Loved our meal here. Chose the light and refreshing blueberry ale from their fantastic beer selection (Ale House = duh) and it was a delight - fresh blueberries floating up and down in the ale... a lovely unique treat on a hot night! The food was outstanding. The rib eye was over-priced but I just LOVED it - succulent, juicy... More
