Being fans of Chef Jesse Vergen from his stint on Top Chef Canada, my spouse and I had to try the Ale House before we left. Even though Chef was out on his boat (it was a beautiful day) so we didn't get to meet him, we were not disappointed. Lovely room and very good service! I started with beet... More

Not sure where to start but the whole experience was odd. We went based on the reviews by were disappointed. The waiters behind the bar seemed uninterested in actually helping pick a drink or helping with the menu. We ordered a crab dip and I still cannot figure out where the crab was.... We left after the dip and a... More

Hey Easy-Traveller-mtl, That is certainly not our brand of service, we have discussed this very review with our staff and they apologize profusely for not being more engaging. As for the crab dip, it is emulsified into the dip, so its not chunked crab meat..more of a flaked flavour and smoother texture. Hope to see you again soon and please... More

This location is a staple in this beautiful city with great servers and good food. There is also a nice patio to enjoy the nightly entertainment on the boardwalk during the summer months. Stop by for a drink and relax or get together with friends and family.

We ate at the Ale House our first night in Saint John and it was delicious! I had the fish & chips and my boyfriend had the chicken fingers. Both were SO good! Plus, there are tons of beer options on tap. Mmmmm good!

The food was ok. The positive is the chicken fingers that have been featured on the food network. My kids loved them, I got the stake and it was small and not much flavor. Over priced for what I received.

Hey Chris, Not sure if you brought this to the servers attention or not, we would have happily fixed the meal or taken it off the bill right then and there. We offer 100% guarantee on quality of the food we serve...we are human run and perhaps the seasoning got missed...this is merely an explanation, not an excuse. Feel free... More

They have a long list of draft beers and build-your-own flights. The grilled chicken club was tasty but the thick-cut rosemary fries were the star of the meal. Great views of the harbor.

I am a huge brew house guy, we hit a new one each day! This place still stands out as the food was incredible!!!! The chicken fingers are out of this world, the spinach dip is amazing if you like garlic, lots of garlic (we do) As for beer, great selection!!!! Great view to boot!

Ate here last night when I was in SJ for work. I ordered what the locals told me to order: "the buttermilk chicken." I was a little let down and still hungry after. They were ok but I've definitely had better here other times. However, the beer was cold and I love the building. My friend had the pub club... More

We chose this because of the great location to our conference. The menu had lots of options I could have picked. Food was good , although not particularly speedy. We barely made it back in the hour timeframe and we were the first ones in for lunch time. I see this as having a nice atmosphere for after work drinks... More
