We had lunch here on a weekend when the town was crowded. Yet there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The beer was good - tasty IPA. The menu is typical for a pub. The service was slow and the place lacked ambiance. They need to do a bit more as there is a lot of competition in the area.

We were pleased to find a spot with quality food and drink. There are lots of pubs in town and way too much pub food. The Big Tide Brewery had good, cheerful and rapid service, plus a tasty variety of offerings on the menu.

My husband is always on the hunt for craft beer, IPA's and pubs. We read reviews about Big Tide and were not disappointed. We only stopped in for a tasting and to try a pint after. I cannot comment on the food as we didn't order any. The service was friendly. It was a nice day so the large windows... More

I suggested this spot for dinner after reading the good reviews. We were seated in the backroom which lacked ambiance for sure. We were presented with super crinkled menus, that looked like they came out of a kid's backpack. Although their menu is big, they were out of a number of things. Food was nothing special. Don't think I would... More

Ordered Irish Red and beef nachos. Beer was ok. Nachos had very little cheese and was a bit dry. Becky came within a couple of minutes after we started eating & asked if everything was ok. We said the nachos need more zing and cheese. She immediately took the plate back to the kitchen and returned shortly with great nachos.

We needed somewhere for a beer and an evening snack, this pub was just down the road from our B&B. This is a locals' pub, no frills, just beer and a simple menu. The craft beers were good, the food was fine, and the service was quick and friendly. Tuesday evening, 7:00-9:00 is Quiz Night, so the pub is very... More

My husband and I came to Saint John thinking that we didn't have a lot of vegan choices due to the research we did before hand. However, after visiting with the visitor information booth in one of the walkways by the harbour (which by the way, was amazingly helpful- highly recommend) we saw that Big Tide had a couple of... Having been to quite a few bars and brew houses since arriving in the area we were advised that Big Tide was a "must do". To be honest I have tasted better and one of the beers I would normally have returned, having said that the Blueberry Ale was good. Cannot remark about the food as we did not have... More

My wife and I were staying about a mile or two away from the downtown area of Saint John. While we were looking for a place to have a quick, small lunch, we found Big Tide Brewing Company. It looked a little shady once we stepped in the place, but we were greeted by the bartender and he was a... More
