A must try is the lentil appetizer. It's so good that though the whole meal is excellent there are times I want to just order about 10 of them and pig out. Wash your hands and eat like it's meant to be done...with your hands. Spice is hot so if you're not a lover of spicy food go to McDonalds.... More

I have had home made Ethiopian food before and this is just like it! Myself, my fiancee and our friends went for dinner. Service was excellent and the food was delicious! If your looking for a extremely tasty, authentic Ethiopian food experience, this is the place to go!

Located upstairs in Osborne village, Massawa is a nicely decorated peaceful restaurant. We haven't been here for a number of years but the food was as good as we remembered. We offered 4 of the three main specials- two chicken, one a meat variety and the other beef with vegetables with an appetizer each this was plenty and inexpensive. The... More

Massawa has always been an absolutely lovely experience for me. Every time I have been, whether it has been with friends, family or my girlfriend, it has always been great. The food is scrumptious, and the waitress has always been beyond friendly - she even gave me a cake on my birthday, free of charge! She's an absolute sweetheart, and... More

For the past decade this has always been my family's favorite to go to when we're looking to spend time catching up. The food is made on the spot and it takes forever to come out. This isn't a place for a quick bite, but rather a chance to spend time with others and then enjoy the remarkable food. Even... More

If you're up for an amazing & fun dining experience Massawa is a must to visit in Winnipeg! There is no cutlery here as you eat in the traditional Ethiopian manner of tearing a piece of Injara bread to pick up your food. The food is authentic, original and absolutely delicious! I've been coming here since it opened in 1997... More

No, it's not the fastest, but it's getting better and honestly who cares as long as you've got good company because the food with be worth it. The kitchen staff is one wonderful and warm women and she makes fantastic food. Try the Doro Tibs and Ful with feta. I've moved away from the Peg but this is my first... More

This place is amazing! As with all good Ethiopian restaurants, the wait can be a little long, but totally worth it! I've been to many Ethiopian restaurants, and this one definitely is the best. The lady who runs this place is really friendly and the service is great!

This is a favourite restaurant, although as previously noted not a place for a quick meal. Usually your starter will come out relatively quickly, but then you have to wait a considerable time for anything else. The kind of place you go to spend the whole evening, a place to go and catch up with old friends. Having said that,... More
