Had a friends birthday dinner there. Group of six and we tried many different menu items. The bread is amazing! Nothing but glowing reviews from all. Atmosphere is wonderful. Our server was fun and gracious. I would totally recommend it. Looking forward to going back for breakfast as I'm told it is one of the best breakfasts in Winnipeg. "Great... More

It is always a pleasure to sit down to a meal, be it an evening dinner, a late lunch or even just a mid afternoon snack. Food and service is above reproach. But what makes Prom so special is the fantastic views; Esplanade Riel, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, the Red River and the down town skyline. The location... More

We had a terrific window table overlooking the Red River. Lots of space in the dining room. Cloth napkins! Yeah! Menu offered plenty of good sounding selections. The salad with mixed greens, mushrooms, blue cheese and sherry vinegrette was great......the large was great to share. Some baguette on the side would have been a nice touch, however. The small portion... More

First thoughts when we walked in is I loved the décor and atmosphere. A little bit of rustic charm, very spacious, nothing pretentious. Beautiful wooden tables and chairs, lots of windows. Lots of room in-between the tables, love how they don't overcrowd like other restaurants. Server was pleasant and attentive and didn't try to rush us out the door like... More

4 of us ordered meals - the first visit for my wife and me. Our meals were excellent - my beef Bourguignon was awesome with sides of fresh local beets, new potatoes, baby zucchini with pea sprouts.

We were unsure of our arrival time for appointments and stumbled by accident to this restaurant. The smoked salmon on croissant was terrific. Lots of fresh smoked salmon. By the time we left shortly after noon the place was full. Lots of great French menu items.

I had the best duck confit with "berry gastrique" I've ever had. The meat was rich and the skin perfectly crispy. I later learned the berries were local saskatoons, which would have been a nice selling point in most restaurants. The accompaniments were new potatoes and over-sauteed zucchini and tomatoes. The house-made pate was good, not great. A bottle of... More

We are visiting Winnipeg for a week so my husband took me to lunch at the Promenade. We arrived on time but waited to be greeted for a while (instead 3 different waiters avoided eye contact. Eventually (after 5 uncomfortable minutes), one of the waiters said she would be with us shortly. We were shown to our table and given... More

Had the lamb shank with blue cheese and mushrooms. Good flavours with the blue cheese in the gravy although couldn't taste the truffle in the chickpeas and only found two mushrooms. Generous portion. Service attentive but the waiter struggled for an awfully long time to find change for my cash payment ... Until I realised I wasn't getting any change... More
