I believe this little place is under new ownership but the food was as good as it used to be. The menu was very extensive and they were able to accommodate allergies very well. We inquired about the wonton appetizer and were told they had pork and shrimp inside. When we said there was a person with a seafood allergy,... More

I really love eating here when I have a craving for this type of food. I usually get the same thing - szechuan Chow Mein, Sizzling beef with black bean and either lemon chicken or szechuan chicken. All very tasty I also find each dish has a distinct flavour unlike other restaurants where it all tastes the same

Stopped for lunch based on a recommendation from local Winnipeg person, very tasty food generous portions. From the outside doesn't seem like it would be great but it's a hidden gem. Loved the pork chop soup - options of not spicy to extra spicy. Ordered spring rolls but didn't have room to eat as the soup was a very hearty... More

When I think of chinese food, I always go back to Foon Hai. Every other chinese restaurant seems to be the fast food type, heavy on breading and all the dishes taste the same. I find Foon Hai has more variety and less breading, if any at all. It has been at least six months since my last visit and... More

Ordered on Skip the Dishes and was quite disappointed. I ordered and paid for a medium soup and only received a small. How do 2 people share a small bowl of soup? Shanghai noodles were burnt tasting and very little vegetables. Black and charred. Dry breaded veal was good but half the size of a regular portion at any other... More

We had their homemade chicken soup. There was enough for a light luch for two people. The home made noodles were very good. Servers were very attentive.

#59 on the menu which is Five spice salt and pepper Shrimp. The salt crystal they sprinkled on the dish not even melted :-( Salt taste covered over the spicy, not spicy at all. They changed the owner since end of March; New owner & the kitchen chef sucks!

To the reviewers who complain about the decor.... It's not about the decor it's about the food. The 170 soup is so delicious. I work near by and love going to Foon Hai for lunch and often my wife and I go for supper. It's all about the great food.

This is just a little hole in the wall but the food is amazing!! Mein host was very friendly and showed us to our table. We ordered duck which was so plentiful that we took some home! It was tender and delicious. We had great crispy wontons and sizzling chicken in a sauce which was very tasty. We also ordered... More
