Hard to explain but trust me buns are just so much better when made with Manitoba grains freshly ground and put into a delicious cinnamon bun made right before your eyes and hot out of the oven. They were so light and fluffy, no need to share these babies and yes they made it back home to Ontario on the... More

We visited three times during our time in Winnipeg. The baked goods were AMAZING! We sampled: cheese croissants (yummy with smoky cheese), brownies (chocolate goodness), chocolate chip cookies, spelt cookies, warm whole wheat cinnamon rolls (delicious) and white rolls. Everything we tried was great! Service was warm and welcoming. Prices are great! I would highly recommend a visit to this... More

I've been here several times as I work in the area. I wanted to buy some cake to take home and it was cut in different sized pieces. I ordered 2 brownies and a chunk of the cake from the display. As I was walking up to the display I saw some pieces of the cake, pre-cut, by the till.... More

Bought a full apple pie today and I have to say VERY disappointed. I have bought other pies from here and they were all excellent. When I make my apple pies I use crisp fruit, the pie I bought here was more like overripe mush so it was more like they poured apple sauce into a pie shell. Even more... More

The folk cookies and cinnamon buns are the best!! The veggie sandwich with hummus is also very good. Have not tried anything else - stick with my favorites as I don't get there very often.

Friends took us here for coffee and buns. Their cinnamon buns were so good we had to go back for seconds. Lots of interesting bakery goods available. Very busy which is always a good sign.

I also had a cheese filled thing that was awesome, can't remember what it was called. Being from the U.S. I had never heard of bannock, it looked like a scone with blackberry jam but I wasn't sure so I asked the cashier, "What is a bannock?" With a shrug of her shoulders she replied, "It's...a bannock." Luckily an older,... More

You just HAVE to buy their cinnamon buns once you get a whiff of them as they take them out of the oven. When you bite into one, you can understand why there are lineups for them. Delicious!

Today we enjoyed coffee and pastries at Tall Grass Prarie's Forks location. The whole wheat cinnamon bun (hot and fresh) did not disappoint.

They have really good cinnamon buns, scones and croissants. It's also in a nice venue - - the Forks Market building, at the very popular site, The Forks, at the junction of Winnipeg's two rivers. They also grow organically the grains they use and mill it right on site. They also press their own sunflower oils from their seeds right... More
