We joined a small group for dinner and music. Our servers were very attentive and ensured that our water, coffee and other beverages were refilled in a timely manner. I ordered the West African Peanut Soup which was good but could have done with a...bit of spice. I had a shrimp and mango salad that was fresh and crisp. The seafood chowder smelled delicious and was a hearty bowl of soup. The warm focaccia was a treat. The highlight was the live music served up by the Bob Watts jazz ensemble. The vocalist was top notch and the musicians were really enjoying themselves. It was an excellent way to spend a Saturday night.More

My first time here. Pleasant surroundings . We were seated by a window and it was really cozy as there was a heating vent by the window. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous . We had the peanut soup and salad with cranberries and...sunflower seeds. Both were tasty. It was the soup and salad combo. Portions on the smaller side. I would have preferred more dressing on the salad. My friend had been her for lunch a number of times and I would definitely come back.More

Housed in the McNally Robinson Bookstore (which is worth a visit itself!), Prairie Ink is a warm and cozy restaurant, perfect for friends catching up and families enjoying a meal. The menu has something for everyone from delicious soups to pastas, with accessible flavours reminiscent...of homestyle cooking. The desserts are not to be missed! From sacher to raspberry tarts, this is the perfect place to sample more than one of these treats.More

The restaurant is attached to Rand McNally bookstore - what’s not to love there. So there’s a little literary and arts theme going on. Seriously it’s got great food in a great location. Their peanut soup is to die for. And the sandwiches were soft,...tasty and loaded. They also apparently have music and entertainment in the evenings. Oh and did I mention there’s a bookshop attached?More

We are regular customers of Prairie Ink in the McNally Robinson store in Saskatoon. Being in Winnipeg, we thought we would give the Prairie Ink there a try. The menu is different, the the type of cuisine is the same. If we lived in Winnipeg,...we would be regular customers there just as we are in Saskatoon. Everything is light and refreshing. Menu has an interesting variety. Service is quick, friendly, efficient, and non-obtrusive. All good.More

After perusing the book store, we had a quick dinner here. I wasn't very hungry, so had a small salad and chicken breast - which was fine - and my husband had the tourtière (pork and beef pie), which he enjoyed very much. The server...was awesome - we asked what all was in the pie, and went and brought back the recipe binder and read off what was in it! That was very cool - no one has ever done that before. We took a couple of desserts to eat later, sachertorte and another chocolate confection, and they were AMAZING. Great place!More

A lovely setting in the context of a book store, nestled in a cozy corner with ambience and natural lighting! Yes our party of 5 included a call for a reservation with a pleasant and accommodating staff experience, which ensued upon arrival. Excellent selection and...choices for flavours spanning a multitude of palates. Our selections for appetizers were delicious and spot-on. 4 out of 5 entree selections were plenty of food for light and heavy appetites, however the French meat-pie was less desirable, bland and dry. We will return!More

On Saturday, April 27th, I called to make a reservation for 15 people for breakfast on Sunday, May the 5th. At the time of the reservation, the person taking the call said "we open at noon on Sunday". I said that would be fine. FIVE...days later, Thursday, May 2nd, they call to say they can't accommodate us for breakfast because they won't be serving breakfast on that day due to another group coming in. Thoroughly frustrated at the fact that we now have two days to figure out what to do for breakfast on Sunday and communicate to 15 people, I went there in person to speak to the manager. The only thing the manager said was "I'm sorry. The person who took the call should've told you." That's it!! I said "This is a combined Mother's Day/Easter and not only are my parents coming in from out of town, but this was my Mom's choice for where to go. It took you five days to figure out you wouldn't be able to accommodate us so now we have two days to make other arrangements." No response. The manager didn't seem too concerned at all, didn't make any effort to find a way to make things right, except that she would call her sous chef to see if he could make a quiche for us but wouldn't know until later today. Clearly they don't care about their customers. I will NEVER go there and will tell everyone I know to AVOID AT ALL COSTS! And definitely don't make reservations for Sunday breakfast.More
