Had dinner here tonight. Felt that I needed to write a review after reading unfavourable reviews. Our party of 3 sat in the rail dinning car. Seating was very comfortable. Our waiter Alain (who speaks English, French, German and Italian)was prompt and attentive. Ice water was brought to the table right away and was replenished numerous times throughout our meal.... Resto gare is one of those "pearls" you want to tell out of town visitors about. The Service is excellent, especially from Curtis (The sommelier) . Different dining areas offer a nice choice of patio, intimate (old train car dinning), or the main restaurant for larger parties. The food is exceptional, we had a charcuterie board and PEI mussels, both... More

Beautiful restaurant in the heart of St. Boniface in an old train station. The dinner was very good. I had the salmon and it was perfect. the gluten free options were many and as well as the chocolate cake for dessert. Highly recommend.

This was an amazing restaurant. We celebrated our 23 year wedding anniversary here yesterday. We used to go to a place in St Boniface called the red lantern. But it closed years ago. I am so glad I tried this restaurant. Vanessa was an awesome waitress. She knows the entire menu and was so kind in helping us chose from... More

One of our favourite restaurants, especially on the summer patio. Terrific food... Some French and with lots of other choices. Very attentive friendly wait staff. Charming historic Winnipeg/ St. Boniface.

After visiting family in Winnipeg the past 6 years, we stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant located in a beautifully restore train station/car. Our waiter (Matt) was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and very skilled!! Food was over the top great!!! We had home-made quiche, tourtiere, and beef bourguigon. ALL perfectly prepared and delicious! Had creme brulee for dessert....one the of the finest... More

I believe the place was understaffed. It took 30 mins per drink order. 1 hour to get a menu, 1.5 hours for food. 3 of us didn't even want to eat our food because the combination of not even hungry anymore and the fact that it didn't taste good. The waldorf sandwich (not sure of the spelling) was just mayo... More

We came on a Monday without a reservation but it was early. No problem getting a table in the train car. Curtis was our server, very courteous and observant through the meal. My husband had escargot done in a red wine "gravy" in a cast iron frying pan instead of the usual garlic butter. He has had them here before... More

Attended at Resto Gare for a birthday supper and was very pleased with the service and meal. The meal was prepared very well and the presentation was well done. The steak was prepared exactly as requested which at other restaurants is often a hit or miss proposition. The request for the sauce on the side was followed without question, it... More

Visited Resto Gare while visiting with family. We were unable to sit in the restored rail car which was disappointing for my kids. We mentioned this to our server and she was apathetic. We went up to look at it and a waiter very abruptly pushed passed us. We then were seated at a table at the back of the... More
