A serious Italian restaurant. Very nice wine list. Located a half a block off the Village Stroll. We enjoyed the ambiance, the food, the wine, and the service. Our waiter was enthusiastic and quite knowledgeable when it came to recommending a BC wine. Although I can't remember the winery name, it was a surprisingly good cab-based meritage. The menu is... We enjoyed dinner, pasta was good, aps were good, but I don't know if good justifies the price tag. $16 desserts? the bill for the 4 of us was over $250 and only one of us had a glass of wine. We went out for dinner twice and in my opinion Whistler is pricing itself as mega expensive. We enjoyed... More

The food was pretty good but for a group of 3 to eat and drink a half bottle of wine, our bill was over $200! With that said, the atmosphere and knowledgable servers is what separates it from the "box store" Italian restaurants. I probably would go somewhere else next time as I hate overpaying for relatively average food.

A wonderful dining experience, with an excellent selection of wines and attentive service. A wonderful chance to remiss about the old "Giradino" in Vancouver.

Attentive service. Walter, the Maitre D' was excellent as always. We love sitting at the "bar" and watching the action.

ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! We spent the weekend in Whistler with family friends. There was 12 of us, 6 adults and 6 kids. -Tagliatelle de mare did not have much flavour. -Veal Scallopini was overcooked and dry -Pesto duck special was very salty. It got saltier as you chewed into the meat -Other duck special was the same intensity of saltiness -Linguine... More

Have visited this restaurant a number of times over the years, have never been disappointed. Restaurant was booked so we sat at the bar, would highly recommend you make reservations. Sitting at the bar was great though. We got to watch as the staff prepared each food dish, which made our choices more difficult as everything being prepared looked so... More

Every time I visit the Trattoria, my experience is wonderful. I love the gnocchi and I especially like being able to chose the sauce. This time I decided upon gnocchi Indiana and that isn't a flavour from Indiana but a curry based sauce influenced by Indian cuisine! Curry, pine nuts, raisins, chicken; delicious. I never thought I would say things... More

* this review is about the service, not the food * I had dinner at Trattoria Di Umberto this past Saturday night with a group of girlfriends and will not be back. Ever. The food was delicious but I was so offended by the attitude of our waiter, especially at the end of our meal, and his treatment of us... More
