Expected excellent halibut. Offered ling cod. No thanks. Tried Chicken Duo. White meat is juicy and delicious. Dark meat is made from parts of a chicken that are unidentifiable. Reminiscent of a dubious Chinese restaurant. Tortelloni (3) filled with insipid bright orange stuff. Hubby wanted...More

I convinced my 'better half' to go to OLO as I was keen on trying the vegetarian tasting menu. This is a very small restaurant so reservations are a must. The timing of the courses was reasonable..definitely not too fast..as was the progression. Some dishes...More

In Victoria, the coolest and most current food happens in small rooms....and right now that is Olo. The food is fresh, local and perfect. I enjoyed a meal recently and my guest was a well established chef from out of town. Our meals were outstanding....More

I love farm to table. Or farm to fork. Or farm to my belly. OLO has done a nice job of putting together a f2f menu with local meats and greens prepared in innovative ways. I had the green tree sour cocktail to start. I...More

We went for the tasting menu, which was pretty good. Nice attempts to balance texture, umami and sweet/acid. Some effects weren't quite working, and there was a bit of repetition in the texturing effects. All.together though, a pleasant experience for all of us. Good service.

This used to be the venue of another restaurant and since Olo took over, I haven't had the chance to visit. Was here for business on Thursday night and quite impressed it was a full house. First, the waiter was one of the best I've...More

We popped in without reservations and thoroughly enjoyed eating at the bar - served by Matt, who is well versed in the food and wine selections. Loved the Wild Island pinot gris - made for the restaurant in conjunction with Unsworth vineyards. And my husband...More

Fantastic service. We didn't have reservations - which you really should do - but the waiter made us so welcome and found a table for me and my sister. The food is all pretty much local. The waitress was able to tell us exactly where...More

It isn't often that you can go to a high quality restaurant and not have to pay the proportional price. No table cloths, casual staff, lower overhead, but, everything else top drawer. Simple, excellent menu, amazing mixed drinks, and a culinary attention to detail seldom...More

Description
Relationships are forged over food at OLO - whether its friends and family enjoying a boat-to-table brunch or Executive Chef & Owner Brad Holmes finding farm-fresh ingredients from hard-working neighbours. Delicious food, laughter and good conversation are always on the menu. 'Olo' means 'hungry' in Chinook Jargon, a derivative language of English, French, Chinese and Chinook, and just like the Pacific Northwest was once a gathering place for traders, OLO is where the community comes together when hungry for more than just a meal. Serving up fresh local produce, Chef Brad is part of the Slow Food Chefs Alliance and switches up the sustainable menus depending on what's coming through the kitchen doors every day. Each dish celebrates life in B.C., using only the best ingredients available and working with amazing farmers, fishermen and foragers to provide an experience that captures the essence of Vancouver Island. Handcrafted seasonal cocktails showcase the best of Vancouver Island products and the bar program highlights the region's bounties with an impressive selection of B.C. distilleries, breweries and rare Canadian whiskeys. The thoughtfully curated wine list focuses on small-batch producers that showcase the Okanagan and Vancouver Island's best wineries, alongside premium international selections.
