I went here with my Dad and quite liked it. We had the special lunch for $9.99 each and had won ton soup, then a big plate with chow mein noodles or fried rice, chop suey, sweet and sour pork. I liked everything but found the pork chewy. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, just a bit of crunch left in them. This is not fine dining, it has a cafeteria feel to it and my Dad said the washrooms are not very clean. But good value for a big hot meal! And good luck getting out of the most confusing parking lot! The parking for the restaurant is down by Lee Valley but you turn a sharp right to go to Goodview Restaurant.

I picked up a take out dinner for 6. It was ready for the time I ordered it for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was very good and plentiful. We fed 7 people and had lots of leftovers. We will be ordering from them again.

This place isn't fancy but the food we found was good, after ordering it came very quickly from the kitchen and they brought out plates that were hot, not many Chinese Restaurants do this!
It's not easy to find, we asked a lady at Lee valley she was the person to recommend it, certainly would go back.

Flavorless sums it up. I never write reviews but this was so bad...sweet and sour pork in our combos was dry dark brown pieces with no sauce the rice and noodles were a flavorless mush and hard veggies in the chop suey. I felt like I was eating a frozen chinese dinner from the grocery store and that's being polite. In my entire life I have never had Chinese that bad. Even the side sweet and sour sauce I ordered was almost tasteless. The strips of almond chicken were so ridiculously thin and dripping in grease but probably the only edible part.

We have eaten here many times before Covid hit. Our 3 preteen kids and I always enjoyed the food. We celebrated our sons birthday in Oct 2020 by ordering take out (given they aren't open for dine-in). We ordered the combo meal for 6 and substituted in ginger beef in lieu of the shrimp dish. At first they tried to charge us $5 more for the substitution. We inquired why, since their ginger beef dish is lower cost than their shrimp. They couldn't argue and waived the $5. Our excitement was quickly extinguished when we opened the meal. We couldn't recognize the same dishes we learned to enjoy previously. The ginger beef was so hard & dry that my wife cut her throat eating it. I couldn't taste any ginger and the sauce we enjoyed was gone. It was dry lumps of hard meat with no flavor. The kids usually love the wonton and broth. They didn't finish it because it had a different, unappealing taste. The sweet and sour pork was gooey lumps of breaded meat. I could not distinguish that the sauce was sweet and sour sauce. It was a flavorless gel. It appears the owners have cut quality to survive the Covid downturn in business. I think that was a bad decision. We are now searching for a new favorite place to go for my other son's November birthday.

We've been going to Good View ever since I was a kid growing up in Victoria, and we continue to this day! I've always found the food consistent and delicious- especially the veggies. They are always fresh and crisp!

We used to enjoy the food there. Two visits ago everything was salty. I always give a place a second chance so we ordered same food again and it was totally flavourless. Lemon chicken had no flavour whatsoever. The s&s boneless pork was flavourles with 80% pieces being fat, and there was very little sauce. Chow mien? Yuck. I wiill make it at home next time. Flavourless. Husband was so disappointed he wanted to drive back there and return the food and demand our money back. It was THAT bad.

The food was absolutely terrible. Chicken balls and lemon chicken were flavourless, and so was the sauce (which tasted watered down). The ginger beef was over cooked and also tasted like nothing. We wasted over $60.00 on take-out, and it’s all going in the garbage. First time EVER we are throwing away leftover Chinese food. Very disappointed!

We ordered Chinese food for 34 guests at our recent family Birthday Party and it was wonderful! Gary at Goodview was helpful during the ordering and choosing of the food, they delivered within 30 minutes of the arranged time, the cost was very fair, and most important - the food was plentiful and tasted great. Everyone raved about it and some people took home a Goody Bag of left overs. Thanks Goodview - we'll do this again sometime!

The ginger beef was burnt crisp. Difficult to chew. The vegetable dish was swimming in grease and noodles were overlooked. I wouldn't want to repeat this experience.

I was disappointed with this restaurant. Nothing like the picture posted here! When I got home the food did not look appetizing, they were very chintzy on the meat I mostly had chow mein. Now I know it is normal to have a lot of chow mein but I had 3/4 of my container for a combo of 2 items plus chow mein. The sweet and sour pork was over cooked too unfortunately. There are better Chinese options in the area.
