They do not take reservations and they were full AND we were complete strangers (from 4,700 miles away) - but the maitre very kindly (and we think rather exceptionally) offered us a place at the bar which we took. Pleased we did. Excellent food. A great selection of wine. Terrific atmosphere and (what bliss!) no background music. (At a table... More

We dined here in late August 2016 with friends who were already well familiar with this restaurant. The service, food offerings and drink selections were outstanding and excellent value. I was particularly taken with my burger, which may be the best I ever had -- perfect bun and toppings with the meat spiced and charred lightly to perfection. Likewise, the... More

We don't eat out a lot and when we do, Brasserie used to top the short list of places we enjoy. Sadly, we suspect we won't return. I've written positive reviews in the past, but I feel the restaurant is now perhaps resting on it's very good reputation. We dined on a Tuesday with four of us - two adults,... More

At this point Brasserie L'ecole has hundreds of reviews and is well loved by all who dine there so this review might just be a drop in the bucket, but seriously they have the best burger I have ever had. And if you do the math that's bonkers, If you conservatively state that you consume roughly 2 burgers a month... More

My favourite restaurant in the city and the best value around! We've been eating there at least monthly for the last decade and have never had anything other than wonderful food, drinks, and service. The chef has the best palate in town and his dishes are perfectly prepared. Portions tend to be generous. The extensive beer list (primarily belgian) and... More

We were looking for a restaurant at 10:30pm around chinatown and everything was closed except Brasserie l'ecole. They were nice to accommodate us even though it was so close to their 11pm closing time. I had the pork chop with chanterelles and it was divine, although I could have had more chanterelles. My daughter had the burger which was huge... More

We were walking around Chinatown at 11pm to eat (very late), and the only open restaurant we found was this.... suprisingly a french restaurant! !! The wiaters were nice and I was happy it was open this late!!! Great food, nice small place.

After arriving in Victoria on a sunny Saturday afternoon and then taking in all of the sites by bike, we made the mistake of going a little too long before realizing it was time to eat dinner (after 9pm). We strolled around downtown/Chinatown to see if anything called to us and happened upon Brasserie L'ecole. The dimly lit, cozy dining... More
