After seeing advertisement for several months for this small restaurant annexed to a old style British Pub, we decided to give it a go for lunch. It is primarily wine bar with a limited but tasteful menu. What a delight it was. The staff was friendly and the food absolutely wonderful. My wife and I shared a meat and cheese... More

One of the best Chicken Pate Appetizer I have tried so far. I was craving this dish and I became greedy to finish it with how vis a vis made it, topped off with awesome French brioche, some compotes and of course cornichons 💚. If you love a full bodied smooth red wine, try the: Sablet, I am now on... More

The bar fod at the Penny next door comes from the same kitchen, although there are some items here not readily available at the Penny. The atmosphere is very relaxed and almost elegant...it is comfortable, and the sidewalk seating is a wonderful option on one of the most interesting sidewalks in the City The food is very good, and i... My friend and I went to Vis a Vis because of an ad I had seen. We were more than pleasantly surprised. I had the duck and my friend had the beef bourguignon. Both dishes were fabulous. The beef was melt in your mouth and the duck perfectly pink. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The food was served... More

Vis-a-Vis has a lovely decor and atmosphere and some very good food. However, their cheese board has 6 options, you choose 3 - not bad, except they were out of 2 cheeses, three were blue and the gourmet cheddar was substituted for just a regular one. The restaurant has several deli's nearby so they could have bought some cheese if... More

On another day I just happened upon this lovely modern French bistro that has an English Pub right beside it with an inside pathway and shared menus. You can dine a la Francaise or partake of British fare. I chose the French delicacies and was not disappointed. Good selection of wines too.

Lunch with a friend. Arrived early and was welcomed warmly and served some excellent coffee. The food was good - maybe not the best in town but better than average. My friend had an onion tart. A generous portion and tons of flavour. I had the seafood bisque; wonderful flavour and a perfect small portion, paired with a shrimp avocado... More

We stopped here after a morning of biking by the bay. As soon as we arrived the waitress saw that we were thirsty and got us some water. Everything on the menu looked good. I would definitely recommend the risotto ! I hadn't had this great food in a while. I would definitely recommend this restaurant !

COMPLETELY unimpressed. Like... We went in, were seated to place settings with filthy chargers. The wine glasses at the table had the ghosts of lip marks. When I ordered a glass of wine, it was served to me in a 'fresh' glass with wet food gunk still on it. DISGUSTING!!!! I don't know if their dishwasher was on holiday or... More

First off I would like to apologize for your experience at Vis a Vis. I am truly sorry that you had a bad time. I understand your frustration. I have taken your feedback to the staff to better the service we offer. I have had the dishwasher checked to make sure it is working properly. This is unacceptable and I... More

Victoria is renowned as a breakfast city where it is fashionable to stand in lengthy lineups at restaurants in anticipation of a great breakfast. Pretty sure that this will soon also be the case for Vis a Vis which has just recently started opening their doors at 7am (seven days a week) so as to add breakfast to their already... More
