We wanted a place with local flavor and great food and found this place. Nice choice. Appie of Cauliflower Beignets, unbelievable, Rissoto and Pan Seared Duck were the dishes, all very good. Nice ambience with open brick walls and extended mirrors along the wall opening up the place for everyone. Service was quite attentive. Highly recommended.

Nice little neighborhood restaurant. Cozy place with warm and friendly waitstaff and good wine and beer selection. Food was good although several menu items were unavailable when we visited and seemed to have been under a warming lamp for a bit. Would go back again if only to enjoy a drink and the pleasant space.

I visited Oak Bay village on Wednesday in mi July. And it was on market day. On the same street I stopped a Vis-a-vis restaurant and I got some Mussels on their outside tables $16. I found them delicious. They came from Salt Spring Island which is a Island 35 km from Oak Bay. In addition I got a free... More

Had breakfast here with a business colleague, food was good and I would recommend moving from standard fry up fair and choosing another more healthy option. My sausages and bacon were a bit anemic but my friends breakfast was an amazing collection of fruit beets and oats.

Lunch here was delightful. We started with a cup of crab bisque, one of the best seafood soups we've tasted in a long time. Next up was a shared Salad Lyonnaise, frise lettuce dressed with bacon lardons and bacon-mustard vinaigrette and topped with a soft poached egg. Yummy. Finally, the one disappointment, the shared Charcuterie Platter for two, two miserly... More

After being lost, a wonderful local lady gave us a ride to the Oak Bay Village. She dropped us off and gave us a quick rundown of places to go. She suggested either Vis a Vis or the pub next store. We decided on the cafe. Service was friendly and quick. We ordered the chicken breast sandwich with Brie and... More

After seeing advertisement for several months for this small restaurant annexed to a old style British Pub, we decided to give it a go for lunch. It is primarily wine bar with a limited but tasteful menu. What a delight it was. The staff was friendly and the food absolutely wonderful. My wife and I shared a meat and cheese... More

One of the best Chicken Pate Appetizer I have tried so far. I was craving this dish and I became greedy to finish it with how vis a vis made it, topped off with awesome French brioche, some compotes and of course cornichons 💚. If you love a full bodied smooth red wine, try the: Sablet, I am now on... More

The bar fod at the Penny next door comes from the same kitchen, although there are some items here not readily available at the Penny. The atmosphere is very relaxed and almost elegant...it is comfortable, and the sidewalk seating is a wonderful option on one of the most interesting sidewalks in the City The food is very good, and i...
