Hidden away in James Bay Village this restaurant is real gem of a place. Don't be put off by the exterior as it is a lovely little restaurant with an excellent menu and delicious food cooked to perfection. I had the cheese and roasted garlic to start which I enjoyed so much I had again two nights later! Mains was... More

Had dinner with a friend last week. Not my first visit nor will it be my last. Very friendly staff. Great specials. Lovely location. Not the fanciest place but a very comfortable ambience. Very pleasing entertainment the night we were there (Monday). Food was great, wine was great and not rushed. Just a very pleasant evening.

Pleasant place that has more of a restaurant than pub feel. Dinner came with a small plate of herb bread and herb butter which was delicious. I ordered the chicken avocado salad. It was decent size with lots of delicious hot chicken and fresh greens. The dressing was delicious but the hard boiled egg on my salad was extremely salty.... More

My favorite lunch and dinner spot. I won't say it has the best food in town or even the best ambience but it has the both of these for me. I always feel comfortable here and I always enjoy my meal. The service is prompt and friendly, the booths are cosy, the artwork is beautiful and the prices are good.... More

First time at this bistro which is located in the James Bay area! Did not need reservations, however for every customer leaving another would come to enjoy the experience. We went with the complete meal (appetizer/entree/dessert) which was very affordable. Staff were efficient & friendly plus the live jazz band was a bonus. Seafood chowder & creme brulle were the... Victoria is a tricky place to dine in as there are certainly a number of tourist traps. We are lucky as we are from Calgary but have a place here, so we are out 3-4 times per year. This helps to give so perspective on the dining scene here. Heron Rock is in close proximity to our place and the... More

My feel? The staff take the venue for granted due to the fact that there are hundreds up on hundreds of condos, housing and other type of living units in the vicinity of this restaurant. STAFF My waiter was male. 38+, if I had to guess. (which I just did) He wasn't that interested in making my experience a memorable... More

After flying into town and finding our hotel, all we wanted was a nearby bite to eat. I'll be honest and say that we had low expectations for this local hangout but it was within walking distance so why not? SO glad we tried it as we were pleasantly surprised! Their happy hour appetizers were delicious and we'll priced (Mon-Thurs,... More

This was obviously a neighbourhood hang-out. We went for breakfast/lunch--lots of under 30's having breakfast, and a beer.; the crowd was a bit noisy. The food was so so, interesting mix of smoked gouda with potatoes, but the later weren't cooked through, and the dish was a failure. The menu looked ambitious and might be better when the place isn't... More
