The #ArtisanBistro is an excellent option for Victoria. It is a relatively small bistro with approximately 12 tables, in the Broadmead Village Shopping area off Royal Oak Road in Saanich, (Victoria), BC.
I had the Duck breast with Yam sauce, au jus and mushrooms accompanied by Pino Gris finished with Crepes Suzettes and expresso.
The McCallan Gold was good, but not exceptional. On the other hand the Duck breast was perfectly done with very flavourable sweet Yam sauce and cooked wild mushrooms. The Crepes Suzettes were well done with a good quantity of sauce. The music is a personal taste, so I won't comment other than to say it was good "background" without needing "shouting" to be heard and allowing a nice table conversation for all.
My waitress, Julie was pleasant, professional and attentive without being obtrusive.
If you are looking for a "cheap" meal this isn't where to go. However, if you are looking for a smaller bistro with great food at a reasonable price, this is well worth considering
IF a 4.5 rating was available I would have use it!

This is a small restaurant with a very fine cuisine following a European atmosphere. The menu is varied, light and full of flavour. We had the vegetarian gnocchi and the braised beef fettuccine. First, the portion sizes were perfect, the pasta plates had been heated prior to serving. Delicious is an understatement. Finally we shared the crepe Suzette at the end of the meal, great for palate cleansing. The servers were attentive and pleasant. Good restful background music accompanied our meal and the tables well spaced for privacy. All in all this was a first class dining experience and our compliments to the chef ... . I should also mention a week earlier, and for the first time, we went to the bistro for breakfast. Once again, the food was excellent, the service first class, and again the European touch, including a dog bowl just outside the eating area for our dog. Didn't want to leave her in the car in such hot weather.

Went with friends for lunch and dined on the "new" area of the outdoor patio. They were pretty busy, and although service was slow to start, once our order was taken it picked up. We ordered the Five Spiced Prawn Salad and Mushroom Soup, the Chicken Burger with Truffle Frites and the Seafood Crepe. We were all very happy with our choices. This is a lovely restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great location for Broadmead locals. It was good to see the wait staff and hostess were wearing face masks.

This is one of my favorite places to grab lunch in Victoria. Even though the place itself is quite crowded and congested, the food is well worth it! From entrées to desserts everything is so amazingly tasty and well presented, it is impossible to resist! The quality is consistent too. That butter chicken crêpe? Try it! And that decadent chocolate dessert they have? A dream! As for the service, always wonderful!

Seafood crepe (on the breakfast menu but made for a great lunch) and Shrimp salad.
These were BOTH far beyond normal dishes found in any of the peninsula eateries. Perfectly cooked meat, creamy sauce, fresh greens, tasty little extras. Prompt and courteous service. What can we say? "You gotta eat here!"

6 of us came together for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. We dined outside under the red umbrella. Fun! All of us thought our dishes were delicious. The dishes we loved were soup and salad, neptune burger with a chicken substitute for the beef, halibut and chips, wild mushroom crepes and coconut shrimp. The one exception was the grilled cheese giving it a 4 out of 5. The other dishes were 5 out of 5. Sarah, our server, was awesome. We received attentive yet casual friendly service from her. Definitely a place to become a regular at.

I have been a fairly regular customer of Artisan Bistro since it opened & would comment that the food is still very good. Unfortunately the service in my last few visits has really gone downhill, staff unfriendly. Will frequent less.

I'm sorry, but the food we had at this restaurant was terrible. I startrd with the mushroom soup which was unremarkable. For my main I had the Bistro salad with the chicken add-on. For $29 there was basically lettuce and a piece of flavourles chicken dusted with some weird spice. The 'nuts, cranberries, ans feta cheese' were hard to find. The overall entre salad was small. My partner had a 'grilled chicken burger' that did not have grilled chicken- it had the same flavorless chicken as the salad. The ketchup we requested wasn't ketchup. The serving of fries was small. We would not eat here again.

A simply unbelievably great meal. We have dined at great restaurants around the world and this ranks near the top. Every dish from the wild mushroom crepes to the king salmon to the gnocchi to the maple pecan encrusted chicken al Fredo to the falafel sandwich were first rare. Highly recommended

Forgot to take pics☹. Dinner was fantastic! Started with the Bistro Salad. Great balance of flavors. For mains....I had the beef ragu pasta. My favorite here! Rich flavors. Husband has the Seafood Carbonara. Clams, bacon, prawns
..delish! Finished off with the Cheesecake crepe. Yummo! Raspberry coulis, Graham crumble, and a housemade crepe filled with sweet cream cheese....heavenly! Enjoyed a fantastic Shiraz from Spain. Nice atmosphere. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. A gem in Broadmead....

We had the best food and great service. They noticed we were trying to see a menu outside and promptly brought us one to look at. We had the butterfly garden drink and it was amazing. We also had the house salad with grilled cheese and truffle fries. It was the best I have ever had. Too bad I live to far away to come back

The food was great. The service was good. As it should be as this is not an inexpensive place. We were seated next to the door and I had to keep my coat on the whole meal. A divider would have helped as everytime someone stepped in or out we got a blast of cold air. The restaurant was busy so the noise level was loud. They dont take reservations for breakfast or lunch so you cant request a table. Overall a good experience but with a few changes it would be awesome.

Had the Huevos Omelette for breakfast.
It was devine!
It was easily big enough to be shared by two. Toast, jam, peanut butter and fried potatoes were included.
Presentation of everything was classy and artistic.
Chef Noel deserves a gold medal.
Jada, our friendly and efficient server, made the morning special.
Topping off the meal was the venue vibe itself. Patio, fountain nearby and a nice soundtrack in the background give a great vibe.
The entire mall property is smoke free which is a big plus for me.
Will be back!

Lunched with some friends yesterday. The food was tasty and the service from Sara was exceptional. She was very pleasant and friendly. She didn't hover over us but always seemed to be available if and when we needed something. Nothing was too much trouble.

We had a lovely lunch at Artisan Bistro this afternoon. We went in because we were impressed by their Covid 19 precautions and they have a great menu. We were able to sit outside on their patio. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We will definitely be back.
