We have been there twice and I should really say you have to work on your staff more.... Lazy folks hanging around the showcase. The way they talk to customers, lack of attention, rudeness... One guy, from accent I could guess he is from Czech republic, had lack of patience with customer, who was asking for the cake, but could... More

This is a great spot to meet friends for a bite or coffee and for take out. The baking is excellent - with reasonably priced everyday items like croissants and scones, and pricey, but quite special cakes and other desserts.

Tucked away discreetly on West 16th, this adorable and letter perfect bakery did everything perfectly from the lemon Daquois to the incredible sweet cinnamon rolls. The atmosphere is relaxed in the small seating area and there were seats outside on a baby patio. Our triple mousse individual portions (yes we went there) - were divine. Be prepared for a massive... Sweet Obsession makes the best cakes and pastries in Vancouver. The quality of their ingredients is evident. Presentation is spectacular. Flavours are rich and delicious. The scones and cookies are also wonderful.

Fabulous desserts that present well either at your own table or a hostess gift. Freshest fruits and cream used, and the most divine chocolate employed.

Cakes from Sweet Obsession are expensive; not all are good. We were disappointed in the toffee cake. We liked the flavour but the texture was very heavy ... difficult to cut with a fork. Even worse, Sweet Obsession did not have the courtesy to reply when I let them know about the failure.

A lovely neighborhood spot for a bite and espresso. Seating is tight - about 20 people can be accommodated total counting the outdoor seating - and it is always bustling. People watching is fun here! The vibe is more on the clean, modern side. Parking is fairly easy to find. Sweet Obsession has a wide variety of sweets and cakes... More

Fantastic ingredients an expert pastry chefs culminate in beautiful desserts that are perfect for any occasion. On this occasion we tried the apricot tart and white chocolate raspberry mousse which were delicious.

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
