My husband and I are both fans of pan-fried oysters - and we have never had them better than we had this visit to Riodney. We also seriously enjoyed their delicious house bread (which they get daily from Liberty Bakery at Main & 21st Ave.in Vancouver), great craft beer selection and very friendly and efficient service. We haven't been in... More

Quirky place. Loud. But food was good. Service could have been faster. Oysters took forever but were good once they arrived. Waiter over charged us for too many drinks but did not catch it until later.

Really busy no matter what time of the day is so be sure to make a reservation. It is interesting to seat by the counter or upstairs where you can look down for some action of line cooks. Always good food and reasonable.

I had barely 30 hours in Vancouver, and a friend told me that Rodney's is the place to go. He was right. We sat in the bar area, and enjoyed a slew of appetizers. We asked the waiter to suggest a selection of oysters, and he did a great job of matching our preferences. To say the oysters were magnificent... More

Very friendly helpful staff. Great food. Oysters are amazing!! Slapjack chowder is full of oysters potatoes and is very creamy and delightful. Manhattan chowder had excellent flavor and full of clams. Seafood is fresh and delicious.

Had the Coco Curry Shrimp which was delicious. Service could not have been better and they fill the wine glasses up to the rim!

Low Tide is their happy hour from 3-6, great time to get a dozen oysters for a good price! Arrived at 5 and they were full by 6. Love to frequent this place when I'm staying downtown or in Yaletown. Place has a great buzz to it, staff are great and music is classic.

Had a great couple of hours eating oysters natural and pan fried breaded with their amazing choice of sauces. Great atmosphere and staff and would recommend their Ceasers spicy to wash it down.

I used to go to Rodney's very often for oysters and seafood (I love the food ) however, since I had the worst service at the Rodney's I would never go back there and I'm currently working as a concierge in one of hotels in downtown Vancouver and whenever guests asking for good oysters I stop recommending this restaurant. I... More

We went here during there "happy" hour - which offers great prices and large portions (3-6). It was crowded, but we did get a seat right away. The atmosphere is lively and loud. The servers wear shorts and are laid back and fun. The oysters were the best we have had. We also had the scallops which were equally as... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
