Don't expect a quiet place. It is always busy, with good music and very nice atmosphere. Once having said this...: It is a place with fresh fish and great oysters, with really nice service and good wine (even if served in a water glass). So if you are really looking for this, without spending a lot of money trying to... More

Located in the former warehouse area which is now converted to a trendy bar and restaurant area, the two block stretch provides an array of choices of food & beverages. Rodney's has a bar/pub area at the front and a quiet section at the back depending who you go with. The lobster I had was nicely cooked. Clams on white... More

We had lunch at Rodney's with our two small children. This place is great. Not only that the food is excellent (certainly the oysters) but the staff was great with our kids, entertaining them, showing them the lobsters and crabs. Can't wait to go back!

Coming from the New England area I already have a high standard for seafood however Rodneys far exceeded my #1 seafood restaurant. Everything here is delicious and fresh. We had the mussels which were so good that we ordered a second round. The oysters, prawns and scallops were also so delicious. Service here was also on point and they were... More

We were pointed to this restaurant by the border agent and he was dead on about this place. If you go before 6:00 the food us pretty inexpensive and super tasty. After 6 prices go up. It was really crowded but extremely fun. The fried oysters were huge and super delicious. We also had potato encrusted scallops there were superb.... More

We heard about this place through a friend. Very casual dining in an old building in Gastown. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Menu quite limited, however food and oysters we had were excellant!....price affordable and not through the roof. Would definitely revisit

We had given up on Rodneys a couple of years ago as the Halibut and chips had not been very good for a bit. But we thought maybe things had improved and they had.. The Halibut and chips is back to a stellar standard. The Management must treat their staff well as there were still a few who recognized form... More

The oysters quality is average. Interesting selection of the sauce. Staff has no patient to answer the question about the selection of oyster. Surprisingly they use water cup to serve wine.

This place is always busy. They have a great selection of oysters and because I have been going to Rodney's since they were only in Toronto, I only order their oysters. The other menu items don't measure up. The servers are casual and funny. Service is quite quick given how busy the place is. I prefer the east coast oysters... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
