Oh my goodness. This little gem is amazing! Sashimi is super fresh and so affordable. It is literally my new favorite. It is top-notch sashimi grade but at super affordable prices.

This small, quirky restaurant seated three of us immediately (5.30pm on a Thursday) and gave us an extensive menu to peruse. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and the service was really good. The food itself was excellent, truly excellent, and the prices very reasonable for the quality. I have no doubt that we shall be back ... one day,... More

This small sushi bar located in a nice shopping area has both great food and great service. The food is cheap and everything comes in pretty big portions. The service is very fast, and you will probably get your food within 10 minutes. A negative point is that the opening hours are very confusing and short. There are limited seats... More

We have been to this sushi bar a few times and it never disappoints. Be prepared to wait or either go very early.

High quality product, great price compared to south of the border, and pleasant efficient service even during a busy lunch time. No trouble getting a counter seat. All prepared with fine technique-notable choice is the signature aji. Nigiri, rolls and sashimi equally well done. Despite what others have noted, $$ is correct positioning for this fine little place. Will come... More

Arrived early, as recommended. Sat at the bar. Ordered an array of nigiri, hand rolls, and fresh octopus. The black cod was the crown jewel. Will be back!

we had some good options but we need to explore the menu several more times to find the hidden gems. we had the miso which was flavorful. then the gomaae - some of the best we have had very fresh and tasty. for sushi, we ordered the spicy combo, the yaki hamachi battera (outstanding) and the dynamite roll. the weirdest... Was very happy to find this place. It's not very big which is nice or you may have to wait. Food was fresh, and the menu was so extensive and had much more than most sushi restaurants I've been too. I didn't know many of the items in the menu (but of course all the regular stuff is there). Try... More

Service is warm and sufficient. This venue is busy nearly all the time. You are served by three japanese sushi chefs. Arrive early to skip the inevitable line up. Sushi prices are moderate to expensive. Don't expect fusion rolls, just old fashioned authentic sushi done the traditional way. Recommended: Sukiyaki roll, Nigiri fresh sheet, Seafood salad and Negitoro roll.

Staying in Kerrisdale

Neighborhood Profile
Kerrisdale
Kerrisdale is Vancouver's laid-back shopping district. In contrast to Robson Street, there is more on offer, at more competitive pricing and a slower pace. Called "The Village" colloquially, over 200 storefronts and one-off shops crowd its streets with products and services. It is set in a comparatively sleepy part of town, with tasteful homes and tree-lined walks. Many of its buildings are listed on the Heritage registry, making it a wonderful place to amble and take in the visual history. Moreover, Kerrisdale's healthy consumer culture is especially apt for those interested in culinary, specialty, or children's shops, boasting more of these than anywhere else, meaning that it's a busy spot for families and hobbyists on the weekends.
