Six Acres is a hipster place. The seating is intimate and uncomfortable, but the beer selection is pretty good. The food is ok. I'd suggest going to Six Acres for a beer and appy, then going elsewhere for dinner. Warning, be prepared for the wait staff to give no $hits about being helpful or nice.

We came here for drinks and a couple of snacks. It was nice enough but the service was so slow and a bit annoying...it was like they were stoned!! If you have lots of time and are ok with this I would recommend, but otherwise I think there are better bars in the area. A bit too 'hip' for me!... More

A small restaurant with a nice variety of beverages on tap. Menu is not extensive but food is tasty and well presented. The salted caramel chocolate cheesecake is totally scrumptious! Service was terrific, I found the music a little loud to my taste but perhaps it's a sign of aging..

a tiny tiny quaint place that has 2 beautiful ladies cooking in the kitchen making such lovely creations. I had the veggie sliders which they modify for vegan and oh were they delish with a side of fresh lightly salted fries. Our server was awesome and was such a joy to chat with and helpful. right in Gastown on the... More

This is a very small place with a large selection of beer. We tried the crab cake sliders (3), the beet salad, the mussels and the not to be missed Gorgonzola hot pot.All were delicious.

Did a venue hoping evening in gastown and made this our first stop. Definitely a "hip" looking place, a bit to loud for my liking. Definitely had plenty of beers to choose from. Food was barely average, (I'm being kind) Bathrooms smelled like an alley in behind Main and Hastings in August. Won't be returning.

A lovely little pub, reasonably priced and good location in Gastown. Marinated olives were very nice and seared bison steak with fried cauliflower was very tasty (although a little chewy). Would definitely recommend for food and drinks with friends!

The place has a traditional setting and style in town. Dark wood, book shelves, board games made part of this. The Gorgonzola hot pot was delicious and the beer selection was great. Tried the Czech beer and Belgium beer on a Friday night. It was great. They were reasonably priced too. Definitely a cozy spot to catch up with your... More

When you first walk in , Don't let this busy loud small place turn you away. Give it a chance and be patient - you won't regret it. Cool friendly atmosphere. Awesome beer selection. The best cheese corn fritters in town, Crunchy outside with delicious heavenly corn cheese filling. Be sure order the home fries. Very Friendly down to earth... More

Whenever my girlfriend and I want to go somewhere for some solid gold pub food at a reasonable price, we always come here. We have been here so many times, we may have eaten the entire menu. Some of our favs: poutine (every damn time), crab cake sliders, beet salad, corn fritters. Their beer selection is decent and everything is... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
