We found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to go. We were extremely happy with the quality of the food. It tasted fresh and authentic. Getting WiFi was an issue, but the overall service was great. Highly recommended when in Vancouver.

Always wanted to try the Kerala cuisine so finally we got the chance. Excellent is all I can say, the paratha was amazing, so was the sambal and the omelette. Some very interesting small dishes, I have no idea what they were but they all tasted delicious. Will definitely be back to try more from their menu.

The best Sri lankan/ Indian good. . I always come here when I have the crave for good sri lankan food.. Fresh food and great taste of spices. Busy location but the service is good. Today tried Devilled Mutton thali (half rice/half rotti) Rotti made at the time order not like other places they warm it up...

My first trip to Chutney Villa was very positive. Interior of the restaurant is quite small. Crowded and noisy when we went. Menu is extensive. My sister recommended this restaurant since I love Indian food. Unlike most Indian restaurants that seem to serve a lot of heavy, creamy dishes, the food here was much lighter. I ordered the spinach with... More

Food is okay. I have only tried veggie lunch special with parantha and did not like the veggie dish all that much. But it wasn't that bad either, I finished it somehow but what I really hate is the table settings and the service. Tables are placed are so close that I felt like I was at lunch with two... More

We've been here a few times over the years. Usually the food is pretty tasty. Well not so this last time Very very pricy for the miserly portions. The okra dish had so little okra we had to question if we got the right dish. I'm usually not too negative in these reviews but I will not go back.

I have been here a few times because sometimes I really want a dosa and they are not available at all Indian restaurants. My dosa was bland and greasy and the other food we ordered was just ok. The coconut chutney has zero flavor. This place really needs a good cleaning! Just pretty grim. Will need a need to find... More

We went for Dine Out 2016. It also was near to our condo. My wife had the cauliflower appetizer and I had the meen puttu - a sea bass, chilies and grain. The mains were lamb and a fish curry. Both good. For dessert gulab jamun and mango ice cream - both very tasty and cooling. Service was good.

Without any pretense, this humble restaurant makes every effort to be true to the flavours of Southern India. While not a fine dining establishment, it is very relaxed and cozy and the staff are dressed in colourful Indian Style saree so the authenticity begins with your serving staff whom are all very friendly and helpful. The menu contains many classic... More

On the spur of the moment, and after having passed this place on the bus many times, we decided to visit them for some take-out food recently. After several recommendations from the waiter we chose our curries and headed home with them. The curries were nice, as was the bread we ordered as a side (the closest to naan they... More

Neighborhood Profile
South Main
South Main, or SoMa, is a neighbourhood in upswing. Inhabited by young humanitarian professionals in converted lofts and studio apartments, what was once an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage and eco fashion shops, contemporary sawdust-floor galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting studios. All set to an Art Deco background with a strong blue collar sensibility underpinning each new pop-up and foodie trend, SoMa is on the rise.
