I like the peaceful, quiet ambience of this restaurant. It's small and uncrowded. Service is friendly and my food arrived in a timely manner. I recommend The Little Buddha and the Spicy Tempeh. the freshly made juices are delicious. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are ample. Lots of free parking in the back or on the street.

We looked for a light healthy lunch in this neighbourhood and came across Dharma. We ate the Little Buddha meal (spinach, broccoli and homemade tofu) and the Rice Bowl with spicy Tempe Tofu. We also the homemade Chai Tea. All very delicious to a very good price.

My husband and I happened to be walking by so stopped in. I stress that neither of us are vegetarian let along vegan. I have read the reviews on the rude staff and disagree. He (assume it was Tommy) was polite and pleasant. There wasn't a lot of the usual server chitchat like 'how are the first few bites'. Both... More

Attended the restaurant with a friend earlier this month. The owner/waiter came over, and when questions were asked about the menu, he got very huffy and dismissive. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. It tasted frozen, like something you might pick up at Trader Joe's. However, the peanut sauce was very good. Seriously Tommy, practice what... More

For my spouse and I, this has been for several years now our favourite standby place for a well prepared and healthy meal. The owner Tommy is very friendly. We enjoy any of the bowls, including those with potatoes. I'd also suggest you order the chai tea that is made from scratch here- a terrific beverage on a cold December... More

Well I did not even get to eat here, I travelled from down town on a recommendation and the waiter was so bloody rude and patronising I simply asked him what he would suggest on the menu and he said in a rude tone I have no idea what you like I told him I have allergies to night shades... More

If you are looking for a calm, low key, but well designed restaurant with great atmosphere, Dharma's Kitchen is the place to be. It does not scream attitude or loud, rather, it is a very warm and welcoming place with the owner usually on hand to greet you. The food is all vegetarian and very well done. The juices are... More

Vegan restaurants are not everybody's cup of tea--but don't run away, keep reading. This is one of the very few vegetarian or vegan eateries where a person who eats meat would not feel deprived. I have tried many of the dishes on the menu, and they are all so tasty that you will be enjoying the flavours too much to... More

Delicious and vegan! There were 3 of us and we all loved our meals. The waiter recommended a small bowl in case we were not starving and it was only $8. They also have daily specials Sun - Thur for $12. He came to offer us water 4 times, and also gave complimentary small cups of their own special green... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
