We only had a few drinks for happy hour there and we were really happy. Service was great and super fun atmosphere. The food kept passing by ad looked really good!

I loved it, I was disappointed by it and now I strongly like it again, but it's not love. I do still miss the beef sitting in mash with red wine sauce. Some times you just want a chunk of meat. Great wine, craft beer and cocktail selection. Fast paced staff (it would be nice to see a female trained... More

Enjoyed Saturday night atmosphere, music, vibe. Food didn't take long to arrive , service was alright, thoroughly enjoyed their Mac and cheese and Tuna tartare. Nice neighborhood joint, parking can be a challenge on a rainy night...

Not overly complicated, but probably one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Also nice selection of the usual craft beers available on the west coast.

I love their polenta fries and potato crisps. (anything fried is a good start) My wife is a fan of the halibut and I am fond of the veg burger. Their cocktails are excellent. Their mint julep was great. Nice ambiance too.

Unique menu items that are expertly prepared and delicious. Nice location on Main and it had a nice ambiance where you can have an actual conversation.

We recently rented an airbnb apartment in Mount Pleasant and looked at reviews for some local restaurants. I wasn't sure about the Cascade Room when I walked by during the day but we walked in for dinner at around 8PM and found it still pretty quiet but inviting. Our server was great and we enjoyed the drinks and food we... More

The food was outstanding we really enjoyed what we ordered, the burger was delicious and I was told the chickpea fritters were amazing (my cohorts ate them). Beer wise the Main Street Pilsner was really good as was the Driftwood Fat Tug IPA

Last night we went to The Cascade Room for the first time for an event call Bourbon and Butter where the food was paired with different kinds of bourbon. We had an amazing time with Dale giving us a review of each bourbon and why it was paired with each course. Chef Mike did an excellent job of preparing each... More

Let me preface this by saying I am a Cascade Room fan! I love the atmosphere here, they offer up some of the best cocktails in the city and have an interesting brew list. Normally I stick to my faves Polenta Fries, Mussels or Bacon Cheeseburger. But when Cascade announced their new fall menu would have buttermilk fried chicken I... More

Staying in South Main

Neighborhood Profile
South Main
South Main, or SoMa, is a neighbourhood in upswing. Inhabited by young humanitarian professionals in converted lofts and studio apartments, what was once an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage and eco fashion shops, contemporary sawdust-floor galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting studios. All set to an Art Deco background with a strong blue collar sensibility underpinning each new pop-up and foodie trend, SoMa is on the rise.
