We really loved this bistro. The food was all very good - we four each had different entres and shared 2 interesting appetizers. We thought the prices were very reasonable and the service excellent. Very efficient, professional waiters wearing black aprons. We enjoyed our dinner and conversations without feeling rushed. It was a perfect "local" type restaurant very much like... More

Bistro Adesso is tucked away off the main streets of Vancouver at the beginning of a quiet residential area. It is welcoming from the outside and the welcome inside was excellent too. We had an amusing Kiwi server who made the meal entertaining whilst providing exceptional service. They prepared my absolute favourite: Pasta Carbonara, even though it was not a... More

Adesso is our favourite go to restaurant and lucky for us it's right in the neighborhood. In the winter it is warm and cozy and in the summer one can enjoy the garden patio. Not only is the food the reason we keep going back but it's the staff and the service. You couldn't ask for a bigger welcome each... More

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and frequently laud its ambience and menu to my friends and teammates. This year, a bunch of my rugby buddies decided to "pay it forward" and help those less fortunate than us. I knew that our annual team meal was coming and suggested that we approach Luciano at Adesso too gauge his... More

Perhaps it's the location hidden away in the residential section of the Westend this gem is quaint and often overlooked. Yet for years locals come back. A wonderful patio in the summer makes for a perfect evening on a warm night. Make sure you get a reservation in the summer. Priced moderately try the set menu offering which can be... More

Good food. Gnocchi light and fluffy. Great Italian flavours in the chicken Saltimbocco. Even the olive oil for the focaccia is fresh and fruity, a cut above. Good service. A small bistro in an older building on a leafy streets of older apartments a block off Denman. Character and a sense of being tucked away. The building might have been... More

After reading the reviews, I was looking forward to our dinner at Adesso Bistro but, sadly, was disappointed. We ordered one of the specials, ling cod, and ossobuco, a regular feature on the menu. Both of these choices were very ordinary and nothing special. The fish was topped with a sauce that seemed overcooked and mushy. The ossobuco was somewhat... More

This is a lovely, patron focused restaurant that is well worth the walk. Great service, atmosphere and attention. Food was better than anticipated and waiter well versed in wine pairing, menu and how to make the guest feel special. Many restaurants in Vancouver and I can definitely recommend Adesso for a quiet special couples night or as I did, a... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
