Had such high hopes for this restaurant. Had heard good things and booked my 40th birthday here. Set menu and we covered the bill for 16 of us. The owner was rude pre-party- kept giving me different pricing and then when I questioned him he said "you're getting a good deal"...I pretty sure he ended up being our server. He... More

This was my third visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience has been worse with each visit and I won't return. Table service was extremely slow, bordering on neglectful. The food was very mediocre. It was a busy night and this restaurant seems to be popular with locals, but I am not a fan.

We somehow scored a table on the patio without a reservation. What a gorgeous, romantic little patio! It felt like a great little neighborhood place that we would probably frequent a lot if it was in Seattle. The service was attentive and friendly. We had to drive home after the meal and didn't want to stuff ourselves we shared a... More

Thanks for a great meal. We really enjoyed our time at this restaurant. Adventurous Italian food. I loved the steelhead and crispy potatoes and the braised beef was excellent. Attentive staff and a very good wine list. Would recommend the patio too.

We're back, again!! We LOVE the beautiful patio, the friendly and knowledgeable top notch servers and the food was fabulous. We came with 6 hungry people and left with 6 very satisfied happy diners. We ordered 6 different entrees from the new Summer Menu (so we were informed). Wonderful is the word I would use to describe the evening! The... More

The title says it all... The food was good and nicely presented. The wine list ample and reasonably priced. The whole experience was enjoyable save the service. Our waiter was rude and lacked a sense of humor. The waiter's idea of handing out utensils was to throw them down in front of you on the table. Not simply rude and... More

We have been fond of this location for years and have eaten there a number of times in its former life as Parkside and L'Altro Buca. Although there is no view, table in the garden of this old west end hotel is one of the most glorious places to eat in Vancouver. The new resident Adesso is truly splendid. With... More

This is a lovely restaurant, in a lovely leafy spot in West Vancouver. Very nice atmosphere, great food although a little pricey, good attentive service. Would thoroughly recommend Adesso when visiting Vancouver. Treat yourself!

The Adesso Bistro was recommended by our concierge and it truly was an enjoyable meal. The patio was so secluded and beautiful, service was excellent and our meals were delicious! Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Our hotel suggested this restaurant when the other Italian restaurant we wanted to go to was not available until 9:00pm. Friendly bartender greeted us, told us our waiter would be there shortly. We ordered a cocktail and then placed our order..a starter and a pasta to share. The waiter asked us if that was all we wanted...and we replied yes....... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
