Another expensive choice. Food was good no doubt, but portions were small compare to other Japanese restaurant. We ordered one roll, one sashimi platter and one cooked chicken dish with 2 green teas for CND170+. You know how that feels.

My husband and I came here a few years ago and loved it. This trip was beyond disappointing. Close to $270 for our meal and drinks and it was not even worth what I would have paid at a regular sushi restaurant. The service was poor, the food was just ok. The worst of it all was that I told... More

Tojo's was overall a good experience. The service was great! Everyone had great smiles, was very welcoming and explained every dish to you. We had the omakase six course meal which = to $120/person. This is where the chef decides on what courses you will have. You are definitely paying for quality and not quantity. The food was amazing! I... More

Excellent food quality. The services is perfect always the smile and the kindness for the guests.I recommended the Hon wasabi fresh made with the Hon Maguro toro sashimi. The best part of the belly tuna. The wagyu taste great but, is expensive.Only for special occasion? The chef is very charismatic and friendly.Everythings just when smooth for an early fine dinner. Stop by for... More

We were really looking forward to this meal. Splurged on the tasting menus. Total crap! Most disappointing meal of our vacation.

First started eating at Tojo in 1978 when he had a small outlet. I miss the intimacy of those days, but am consistently impressed over the years with his incredible skills. Must go to place in Vancouver

I visited this restaurant in August. Great location and service. I think that every dish that I tried is fantastic! In my opinion is THE BEST JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD!

The staff and chef tojo make this a night to remember and the omakasi is tailored to your tastes by the chef himself so speak up and share what you want. Good sake and plum wine but be warned...expensive overall. We have great sushi and sashimi all over the world and this will be a higher priced experience for sure

For the first time in a decade I returned to North Americas most acclaimed Japanese restaurant. I was a semi regular at their older smaller location and was curious if it still was turning out the same quality of food that had made Tojos famous with the famous . In a word yes , service food and surroundings were outstanding... More

This restaurant is interested in exacting the maximum amount of money from your pocket in exchange for the smallest average portions of sushi . Service was based on the theory of how many dishes can they bring st the same time to clutter the table so you can leave fast. The quality of the sushi on the limited menu was... More

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighborhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
