Love the consistency of color and liveliness, the food is rustic and tasty. The on tap selection is great and the service fun and welcoming

Lovely staff, great johnnycakes (?), cocktails and jerk balls. The gumbo shouldn't be on the menu - it isn't even soup. Everyone had indigestion after despite what we all ordered. I won't be back.

They were busier than usual but service was good although the kitchen forgot to make my meal. They fixed this by giving a discount 50% off but I felt rushed and it took a while for the dessert to come.

Went last night as a foursome, all food was great. Appy, dinner for 2 and 3 beers was under $50 pre-tip, which is a great dinner to me. But the service made it excellent. We were there 15 min before end of happy hour and the server noted beers were $4. At 5 min to 6 we were waiting for... More

Had oxtail at this restaurant. It wasn't that good. Too soupy (and they served it with a spoon). Be reminded - its a Caribbean fusion restaurant, not a Jamaican restaurant so don't expect the best Jamaican food.

We were staying just round the corner and came here a few times. The food and drink was good, staff were friendly and it was reasonably priced as well.

We enjoyed a brand new taste adventure at the Reef. Our dinner consisted of a Calypso Oxtail Stew and Jamaican Jerk with spinach salads for starters. A very enjoyable dining experience indeed.

The food here was definitely tasty and well priced, but the atmosphere was definitely lacking. We sat in one of the booths near the back. The decor is shabby, though if they're trying to make it look like a restaurant in The Caribbean, it's somewhat accurate. The music however was far too loud for the venue. We had to shout... More

Staying in South Main

Neighborhood Profile
South Main
South Main, or SoMa, is a neighbourhood in upswing. Inhabited by young humanitarian professionals in converted lofts and studio apartments, what was once an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage and eco fashion shops, contemporary sawdust-floor galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting studios. All set to an Art Deco background with a strong blue collar sensibility underpinning each new pop-up and foodie trend, SoMa is on the rise.
