Located in the Coast hotel this is a quaint place for dinner offering a limited selection of meals for dinner in higher end restaurant. The ribs were top of the line and fall of the bone with an unbelievable sauce. Our only complaint is the smaller size of the portions that come with the higher end restaurants. Service was unbelievably... More

My husband and I stayed at the Coast Plaza for a convention he attended and we ate breakfast each morning in this restaurant. The wait staff was also friendly and prompt. Our breakfasts were always cooked just like we asked and the best thing was the plating was beautiful. (I realize the look of a dish doesn't make the dish,... More

Most hotel restaurants are like background music; bland appeal for a general audience. I ordered the prime rib beef dip, earl grey tea, & chocolate mousse. I had low expectations & I was pleasantly surprised. The dipping sauce was not too salty & the fries were unsalted. The tea came in a large 2 cup ceramic pot & the mousse... More

This restaurant is nestled inside Denman Place Mall as part of the Coast Hotel. As you walk by the hotel, an overwhelming smell of the restaurant dishwasher filled the lobby and was a bit unappetizing. We only came here because of a Groupon, but I wish we had checked into it more. I would like to make a point in... More

Hidden in the Coast Hotel on Denman and Comox in Vancouver, the Brasserie Bistro is a quiet little place to have a good meal. I recommend the ribs.

Too much for too little. The pub bar is better even though I think the food comes from the same kitchen. Staff are luke warm.

There were four in our party for the Friday night prime rib buffet. Aside from slim offerings for choices - the prime rib was cold and the poor potatoes so shrivelled from age in the dish - it was sad and tasteless. The carver for the beef was no where to be found - so I did some carving. When... More

Having purchased a Groupon for the Brasserie Bristro we attended on Tuesday, December 9th for dinner. We were very warmly greeted by Marie (our server) who was very charming and attentive during our entire visit. The Boston style clam chowder was nothing to write home about. The BC wild salmon was excellently prepared however the full rack of baby pork... More

Went for dinner on a Thursday night. We were the only diners to start. When we finished there were 3 tables in use. Dated atmosphere but homey with nice table layout. Its a great comfort food favorite. Our waitress, Marie, has been serving in the hotel dining rooms for 26 years. She is excellent. Ordered the French Onion soup and... More

WE had breakfast at the Brasserie and were impressed by not only the selection and quality of the food, but also by the staff. Our waiter was attentive, efficient and friendly. Way to go Buzzy!

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
