Went to the Boathouse fireworks deck party in English bay last night and it was terrible. The deck had no chairs. Not one. Basically the party is an open deck you get to stand on for 5 hours and pay over $300 per couple. The party had some food in the corner and 5 small 2 person tables with no... More

We had dinner here on our last night in Vancouver and were pleasantly surprised by the food. My husbands sirloin was very good (which can be a tricky steak), my mixed seafood grill was perfect and my daughters chicken ceasar salad was 'very good' according to her. Service was excellent. The only complaint would be that the sun was so... More

We had dinner here. Wanted to sit outside but the one table available unfortunately put the sun directly in our eyes and would not be moving for some time. The food was good and our server was great. There was a loud party near us, not sure how common that is. We made reservations but that really wasn't necessary, there... More

It's a gorgeous night with good view, good services and good foods .. Everything is perfect there and even we carry a 1 year old baby there, still feel the warm & friendly once we stepped in ! And thanks for a piece of birthday cake from the restaurant too 👍🏻

My wife and I invited out of towners for dinner and reserved at the Boathouse. We ordered our drinks and upon their arrival, the server dropped two drinks fully on my guests lap. Without going into details the incident was resolved to my satisfaction. The meal was good and our server was very attentive. The view at sunset is, alone... More

Very nice setting and atmosphere. Menu has pleasant choices, but it is pricey. Not sure if entirely worth the price. Service was decent.

My wife and I were enjoying the sea wall walk in the west end of Vancouver. A friend had told us to check out the Boathouse Restaurant and we are glad we did. I enjoyed local draft brews while she had an excellent crisp rose'. We both had seafood lunches that were prepared to perfection and delivered by a friendly... More

The staff were great at adapting to our slow relaxed style of dining. The for was fresh, full of flavour and good value for money. The cocktails were scrumptious.

Perhaps we were supposed to relax for a very leisurely meal, but the service was a bit too leisurely. We spent well over 1.5 hours with no pre-meal wait time. The food was good, but not great. I had the maple salmon which was undercooked. My friend said her crab cobb salad was very good, however. Our waiter was very... More

Four of us ate upstairs and had a wonderful view of the water. Two of us ordered simply grilled sockeye salmon, one ordered maple planked salmon and one ordered halibut. For an extra $10 we added a starter and a dessert. We all enjoyed our meal. We had a pleasant server. Good value.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
