Went here on the recommendation of front desk staff at hotel, and was very pleased with the experience. Was there early, so few diners, but they have a large number of tables available. If coming later (after 6), or if you had a large party, it might be worth it to make a reservation. I'm not sure of the children's... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Boathouse at Kits Beach. Food was tasty, service was attentive, view would have be spectacular if it had been daylight, so will have to return another time, but earlier in the day or in the summer. I went with a friend and we split the Okanagan Field Greens salad, the Seafood Share Platter,... More

I dont know how busy it gets on weekends, but on Halloween it was empty, even with the all day happy hour menu. We made reservations but didnt need it. The staff were super friendly, and very attentive that night. The happy hour food was delicious, but the meal later was just mediocre, and extremely expensive, no wonder it was... More

We started off with happy hour downstairs with appies than moved upstairs for dinner and a view. My meal was very good, coconut fish but my friend ordered the steak and it was very tough but her stuffed prawns were good. Our server was just new and she was very nervous but did a fine job.

The food was great! Really fresh and tasty. We had an amazing view. We sat in the bar and it was really cozy. We were pretty chilly so they sat us near the fireplace which we loved. The staff was wonderful! Our server was really sweet and attentive. We had a stellar view of the bay and really enjoyed the... More

Having spent the morning walking the sea wall, the Boathouse was a lovely place to stop for a late lunch. The food was really very good -- both of us having some version of seafood. The waitress was one of the best - very efficient and personable. We had to wait a bit longer than anticipated for our food given... More

The Boathouse is right on English Bat and one can take in the beautiful sunsets which take place. The staff are friendly and the food and wine excellent.

The service was good but the fish was not what I would hope for at fine dining prices. I would never suggest this place for a person with allergies!

The atmosphere was lacking here, with a strange airport lounge feel. The outdoor heaters were on high indoors, creating an intense and unpleasant heat. The steak and ribs were ok but not high quality. The service was slow and uninterested, an exception for Vancouver. Not for me!

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
