Me and my friend were staying in Vancouver for some days and we found this amazing restaurant. Went there each evening. The view outside was great and the food was delicious. Will for sure go there again when I'll be in Vancouver again.

We had dinner here yesterday while passing thru Vancouver. We chose this restaurant as it was close to our hotel and we had enjoyed a sister restaurant in Richmond on an earlier trip. We were seated promptly in the upper dining room with spectacular views over English Bay especially at sunset. Our server Ghislain was great. We both had the... More

We weren't expecting that much of this restaurant given its location on the busy corner of Denman and Beach Ave but were pleasantly surprised. On a busy Saturday night we got a table exactly where we wanted with only a small amount of waiting. Very good menu - not too big - with a weight towards seafood. We ended up... More

Many years ago we used to go here when it was the English Bay Cafe. It's more of a chain kind of place now. We all had sea food. It was good but not excellent. The food arrived hot and our service was excellent. The location, overlooking English Bay was excellent. If you make a reservation ask for a table... More

We'll probably go back for drinks or happy hour, but that's it. We were there for lunch. I had the grilled chicken salad which was average, although the mango was fresh and tasted great. Friends had the crab cakes and the crab cobb salad. We all felt the same. Meh.....

This place is phenomenal for a sunset dinner overlooking English Bay. The food and ambiance was terrific but even above that was the service we received from George. The manager on duty (we did not catch her name) even was kind enough to take a picture of my wife and I at our table overlooking the beach and sunset. Very... More

We needed a place that could accommodate seven for dinner that was walkable for all concerned. The Boathouse certainly met those criteria and served very good beef and seafood fare. Service was very good. Food was served promptly but we were never rushed.

Decided on the Boathouse to relax and enjoy drinks accompanied by appetizers. Our server and other staff were friendly and welcoming. I had a sore foot so any cheer helped. We enjoyed our food. The oysters I am still uncertain about, sliders and shrimp were fine. Drinks were enjoyable and satisfying.

Our friends took us to this wonderful restaurant for dinner. The food was really good. Good portion size. The staff were very friendly. You will get a good view to the English Bay Beach. Must be really good when there are fireworks on the beach too.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
