The decor is simply 50s and rocks with nostalgia. Not just the decor rocks, also the Eggs Benny rocks, there are many types of Eggs Benny and this place has the best selection. The price is reasonable and the amount of food and fruit is fantastic. Again have breakfast or brunch and you are done for the day. Delicious and... More

These are some of the WORST if not THE worst managers and owners I've ever met. I've give them no stars if I could. They lie and lead on their staff; which is what they did to me; promising me a job and telling me that next week I'll train, and then next week-and before I knew it they just... More

The sunshine.diner is constructed as a throwback to the 1950's style diner with a menu to match. Nothing fancy here, service was pleasant and fast, food was excellent. A good place for a quick lunch and a comfortable surrounding.

We loved this place when we visited Vancouver the first time a couple of years ago, and so we wanted to reminisce. It was fabulous both times - decor and service are fabulous - lots of 1950's and 60's themed imagery of James Dean, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Sinatra, Grease, etc. And the food (milk shakes, classic diner fare like burgers,... A friend had recommended the Sunshine Diner, so we went together. It was a fun atmosphere, perfectly cooked food, and lots of options for half-portions and different kinds of bread with Egg Bennys [instead of an English muffin]. I had a half-portion Avocado Shrimp Egg Benny and it was great. Service was excellent, too. This place was convenient, neat, and... More

That's right, you read it correctly: Mix and Match Eggs Benny. I had one classic and one Marilyn (hold the mushroom) and both were great! Hollandaise was zingy, ingredients were fresh, and they use back bacon not just shaved ham like everyone else does! Tea was $2.50. Sadly, that's a good price. I'm not shocked to pay $4 on Main... Our server was excellent, the eggs benedict the best we've ever had (there was a huge selection of breakfast options) and the presentation was beautiful. Long, white, square plates, healthy serving size & fresh fruit with berries on the side. Just go, you'll love their food and the fun atmosphere too!

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighborhood Profile
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
