The beer was the exceptional part. If you enjoy beer, this is a good choice. The service was attentive but a bit rushed. The food was decent but nothing special. House salad was tasty.

Worth a stop in. Great vibe..comfy chairs by the fire (downstairs). Recommend getting their own brewed beers. Delicious.

Great food at a reasonable price, nice views, interesting architecture, walking distance to other cool gastown venues.

Had a couple of beers here when we visited earlier today & particularly liked the Empress IPA. Quick service, interesting decor. Didn't eat but food looked good too.

Have been here a few times and really the only knock is that it can get very busy and quite crowded (a good problem to have). Good variety of beers. Their success has probably elevated them from craft beer to main stream status although their product is very good. Good food and very good portions. The bar is huge and... More

Visited the Steamworks for lunch, the place was very busy which is always a good sign. Had a table at the back which was perfect, very good friendly service, delicious pulled pork sandwich and a supreme iced Bellini.

Fantastic craft beers are the foundation of Steamworks. We were there on a busy Friday night and even though the brew pub is huge we still had to wait, so make reservations if you can.

A fun place to unwind after a busy day. Met an old friend and enjoyed a couple of their very good craft beers, but was disappointed in the appy's we ordered to compliment the beers. The waiter seemed new, and that is certainly acceptable, but didnt really know the menu (or perhaps didn't give a damn) so we went with... More

I ate dinner here with some friends recently and have nothing but great things to say. I had the Tuna poke and it was incredible! So good...I wish I had gone there again before I left Vancouver. The staff were incredibly nice as well. They were very accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was chill..laid back. We relaxed on the couch... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighborhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
