Menu selection was disappointing. No "sushi staples". Taste of other items was underwhelming. Didn't enjoy the barbecue items either. Atmosphere was lacklustre.

Very accommodating and friendly staff and a great menu. Food is not Michelin star but for the prices it is very good and good for children. Loved the Shabu Shabu.

My family loved our recent korean bbq and sushi AYCE experience. We had not been to this restaurant for many years and will certainly make it a once a year visit. The food is not the very bestI have had but it is certainly a neat experience. The meats were good and the marinade they use is tasty. It is... More

We came here because of it's great reviews on trip advisor. To only be very very disappointed. The all you can eat was bad and their KBBQ was never hot enough for us to cook. For the price I would have thought there would be a larger selection of items. Also, everything tasted like it had been frozen. Nothing tasted... More

Kyo is my go-to AYCE place in Vancouver but I thought I'd give the long-standing Shabusen a try, I probably haven't been here in well over 6 years. Came at 7:30PM on a Sunday and had to wait approximately 35 mins for my table of 2, it was quite packed with many large parties this particular day. The menu selection... More

We had originally planned to go to a different sushi location, but upon arrival we saw that it had permanently closed as of that day. I saw a couple of reviews for here and decided to give it a shot. For sushi, we ordered BC rolls (salmon/avocado), chicken teriyaki rolls, and some salmon sashimi. The maki rolls were good. You... More

Parked in the lot at park royal in north van. Walked over the lions gate and through Stanley park downtown. (7.4 Kms). Popped in to shabu and ate. Loved it. Fast service and great food. Yummmmmmy. A must if you are in downtown Vancouver.

I ate there a long time ago at the new place it is horrible food and service. The Shabusen was wonderful but now is only on Burrard. So try that location.

Visiting Vancouver from Las Vegas before doing an Alaskan cruise. Wanted sushi and heard Vancouver is noted for good sushi restaurants. It may be, but this place isn't one of them. The title says it all. Very busy and large restaurant, but I would suggest any restaurant. Robson and Burrand and the downntown area have so many good restaurants, try... More

Absolutely terrible food here. We ordered the all you can eat BBQ, and were shocked when a bowl of very low grade looking raw chicken and beef, all mixed together, turned up at our table. We were supposed to cook these ourselves on the little grill, which was as hot as a candle. Extremely rude service as well, and far... More

Staying in South Granville

Neighborhood Profile
South Granville
The neighbourhood closest to the airport, a generous mix of locals and tourists populate the area. The blend has made it a go-to spot to find an eclectic collection of entertainment, from theatres and cinemas, to antique stores and last-minute kitsch souvenir shops. It gives off a transient vibe, and is one of the more higgledy-piggledy areas in terms of what you'll find, making it a fun area to explore and map out, all while taking in the hectic atmosphere of people coming and going, while others look for the best ways to spend their last few hours in the city.
