Great food and large portions

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Main Street. The food is always good and the portions are large. They make these amazing purple flower dumplings with chicken that you can not find everywhere. Their Tom Yum soup is also very tasty. This restaurant gets very busy at. Isn't and can be very... read more

This was our first time visiting Sawasdee Thai and it won't be our last. We were pleasantly surprised with the great food and awesome service and if the huge number of take out bags at the front desk means anything, this place is terrific. The food is fresh and plentiful and they will spice it up to suit your tastes.... More

Pad Thai is authentic and very flavorful, we had a seafood dish but the portion was quite small. Service is excellent. This place is very busy so make sure you make reservations. Parking isn't the greatest but this is Mt Pleasant restaurant row.

Food is absolutely brilliant here. Papaya salad, tiger beef, chicken skewer and curry are some of my favorites here. Thai ice tea is also fantastic and highly recommended. The food is also reasonably priced. Tiger beef is only $10 for which you get a high quality meet dish.

Went here for my mother in laws birthday with a party of 11. Service was ok, dirty cutlery and had to ask multiple times for more water. Food was cooked fast. We ordered the 4 orders of Satay as appetizers but they came almost last!!! But the food wasn't that great. Pad Thai was dry, pineapple rice was bland and... More

May be my favourite restaurant in the city for consistently amazing meals. Go for the stuffed chicken wings, Coconut Curry chicken, and the purple flower buns. Your endorphin levels will go nuts!

We had a family supper there with a child of 1, the service was amazing and friendly, very helpful with questions we had regarding the food choices. I am gluten sensitive and had the pad thai and am glad to say everything went well :) Everyone enjoyed their meal and we will go back the next time we are in... More

With a mission statement like, "The Most Authentic Food Outside of Thailand" my friends and I were expecting to be wowed by the foods authenticity. We traveled there by transit and it was conveniently located right across the street from our bus stop. We spotted the restaurant even before we got off the bus; the bright green door and huge... My wife and I were returning from Victoria Island and decided to find a nice Thai restaurant. We found this place which had good reviews. We made a great choice by going there. The food was really delicious and we were served ample quantities . We started off with the Tom Yum and the Tom Kha soup. Bothe were delicious!... More

Staying in South Main

Neighborhood Profile
South Main
South Main, or SoMa, is a neighbourhood in upswing. Inhabited by young humanitarian professionals in converted lofts and studio apartments, what was once an industrial centre is now a wellspring of vintage and eco fashion shops, contemporary sawdust-floor galleries, craft beer joints, and basement acting studios. All set to an Art Deco background with a strong blue collar sensibility underpinning each new pop-up and foodie trend, SoMa is on the rise.
