A place calling itself Provence and presenting French high cuisine is fairly held to a really high sgtandard--and Provence fell short too often. We were eager to find a place in Vancouver that served north Pacific scallops, since prior experience suggests they're terrific. Alas, we could find no place in town with scallops on the menu--until we were referred here.... More

I have been to Provence on many different occasions with friends since my first time there in October of 2015. I was shocked by the how delicious the brunch was! Provence is a quaint restaurant with sweet Mediterranean decor, wonderful servers, and amazing food. I have never been disappointed here! I would highly recommend this place (especially if you wanted... More

Provence is a favourite spot of mine to go, particularly when I don't feel like making the trek downtown for a meal. The room is small and intimate, the waitstaff friendly but professional, and the food is DELICIOUS. The bites menu is great if you just want to do tapas, or to order a couple for yourself for a smaller... More

I had lunch at Provence with my friend Sabrina yesterday. We had some appetizers to share, which was perfect for lunch. Service was spot on! The real French flair :-) Great wine list too. I hope to go back for dinner.

If you have read any of my other reviews you will notice that I rarely give 3 stars or lower for any place I visit. Bottom line is I realize that sometimes bad things happen to good places. In other words, I am not vindictive...it really does not take much to please me. So, what happened with my April 10th... More

I had dinner at Provence with my very elderly parents a few days ago and I was very impressed on a number of levels. The service was attentive, respectful and understanding from all 3 of the staff. They were most helpful with my parents and made them very comfortable. They were flexible with the menu and were able to make... More

My husband and daughters came here for dinner because my daughter wanted french food for her Birthday. The service was excellent but the food was only alright. I had the crab cakes and rack of lamb for dinner.

Service and food are always five star. Have never had a complaint and have been here a number of time. The creme brulee is always good. And when they have a fish special, I always have it as it never disappoints. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants!

The Provence is an interesting place -- the menu is quite intriguing and making a final decision is a challenge. The setting is nice and the facilities well developed. The only downside was the rather aloof server, who took the edge off the experience by acting more than a little haughty. Service like this generally convinces me to finish my... More

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighborhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
