We were at the Watermark for a special dinner with family at the end of December. The service was excellent and the meal was very tasty. My adult children and I started off with some oysters for an appetizer - they were some of the cleanest, tastiest oysters the three of us had ever tried. For dinner, I had the... More

Had dinner on New Year's Day. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and there is a good atmosphere. Personally, I found the food to be average. My wife and I had the bouillabaisse and frankly it was just ok. That said the seafood and fish were good quality, but the whole thing lacked of flavour. Service is slightly pretentious which in... I have a gluten allergy, but that was no problem. They had a few items listed on the menu, but the waitress said almost anything could be made gluten free if I wanted it. I chose the tuna albacore and it was excellent. We started with a bottle of Naramata wine, which was $42 and was great. Their wine selections... More

Provence Marinaside is a fabulous place to take someone for a special occasion. The location on the north shore of False Creek, allows for a scenic walk along the water, before or after dinner. The restaurant's ambience and decor provide a great backdrop to conversations. The menu has a broad repertoire of platinum hits to choose, with emphasis on fresh... More

For once I didn't pick this restaurant, but my family knew that I like halibut so we went for my birthday. We all chose a different dish - everyone was pleased, helped along with prosecco and a pinot grigio recommended by the waiter. Service was very good and knowledgeable and he organised another round of amuse bouche. We were sat... More

We have been 8 persons, everybody choosing another menu. The staff has done a great job, very friendly and professional. The food was great and we hope to be back at this place soon again.

A nice 3-course fixed dinner (appetizer, main dish, dessert) which must change regularly; interesting menu with several seafood options. Good wine list, intriguing dessert list. Good service. A little noisy for converation if you're with a small group.

A mom/daughter trip and lunch at the Provence! What a day to spend enjoying the Vancouver weather (sprinkles) while sipping a cooled glass of wine and nibbling on fresh from the oven bread! We were greeted by a most friendly server and seated at the window, We opted for the $24 luncheon offering of 1 appy and an entry. Shared... More

My daughter and I had dinner last Friday, while I was visiting from Victoria. Dinner was a seafood creation by one of the resident. chefs and it was absolutely fantastic. The wine list is extensive, and we did indulge.Very laid back comfortable French influenced dining room. We did not feel at all rushed. Our waiter-Michael was very professional and pleasant. My... Food was very good and service was fantastic. I had meatball appetizer, the fish soup and a smoked whitefish (cant recall the name) with gnocchi lunch special. Food was great. Setting was very nice. As usual when I am in Vancouver it was raining but it still had a nice view.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
