Dinner dining at the restaurant run by the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts is a unique experience. Enjoyable to watch the students learn the ropes of restaurant service along with great food, nicely presented for a reasonable price all in a great location with views to Granville Island and the Granville Street Bridge. Fixed price menu starts with an amuse-bouche... More

Bistro 101 is an amazing restaurant for a three course lunch for $22.00 On Wednesdays the wine is half price. The food here is what you would expect in a high class restaurant. The appetizers were superb. The two entrees were exquisitely prepared and were so delicious. The desert was unbelievably good. Our server was so friendly and very professional.... More

The High Tea is put on by the graduating students 3 or 4 times a year. It is so popular that you have to reserve early or you may not get in. I went with 6 friends to the June High Tea - it was my second time and was equally as good as the first. This is not like... More

Our relatives living in Richmond made a reservation for lunch here once they knew we were coming to visit the Vancouver/Richmond area. My wife and I are so glad they did. The restaurant is located right before you get onto the Granville Island. Beautiful setting inside - classy, really more for adults. For CAD$22, you get to choose an appetizer,... More

We really enjoyed our lunch here served excellently by Jia a student like all the staff here. Standard is excellent and a few surprises were added like stuffed mushrooms and a mouse bouche stake tartar. At $22 for 3 courses plus the 2 extras you won't find better value or even quality in Vancouver.

One of the closest restaurants to our Granville Island vicinity home, a night out at Bistro 101 is always a treat in creatively presented food. We particulary enjoy the popular monthly seafood buffet as have a number of our friends and out of town guests. Even if the service style isn't totally polished, the servers usually make up for that... More

We had dinner here on 5 April 2016. The restaurant is staffed by culinary students, with oversight from their teachers. The students that we spoke with were about halfway through their studies. Anything that they lacked in polish, they more than made up for with eagerness to please. The food was uniformly very good, and it was great fun to... More

The food was good, well priced with pleasant service. These youngsters on balance offer much more than fully-fledged commercial restaurants with pretensions. Give them a go -- these students are the future.

Another perfect meal at 101! We travel a long way to eat here because it is absolutely fabulous. Beautiful prawns has the wow factor as a starter, succulent beef in a light Bernaise was perfectly cooked, delicious salmon with tarragon mayonnaise, silky and subline Tonka bean panna cotta - not to be missed. These students beat the pants off chefs... More

My server, Nikki, was great and went above and beyond and threw in a complimentary dessert to celebrate my friend's birthday. The three course lunch meal only set me back $22. I were very satisfied with the level of service, the quality of food and ambiance and above all the price. I would definitely go back and recommend this place... More

Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere.
