We visited Le Crocodile for dinner and found ourselves having a difficult time selecting our meals as there were so many great things on the menu, multiple specials, and the tasting menu that sounded amazing. We ended up with splitting the composed tomato and avocado...More

Seven of us went in for a celebratory birthday dinner.....I chose the bone marrow for an appetizer....absolutely perfect - the greens and the tomato cut through the creamy richness of the marrow. Yummy! I had the duo of venison and duck confit as my entree....More

The server was very knowledge and helpful. He made sure to answer all our questions. The food presentation was like nothing I had every seen. The food itself was delicious, from the appetizers to the dessert. The steak tartar was outstanding!

Our first time at Le Crocodile and it was great. Very helpful and professional service. The onion tart is creamy and very tasty. The mushroon risotto was good. Hubby had the magret de canard and enjoyed it.

Very mediocre given the price point. If you are a foodie or familiar with TRUE upscale dining, this is not your place. (Especially if you expect true French restaurant. The staff admitted it was geared for the "North American market".) Obviously, this establishment is riding...More

Reserved well in advance, requested quiet table. Was offered a table crammed behind the service station, or in the bar area. Ended up by the door, as neither of the other choices was acceptable. Food poor to mediocre for my friends, crab cake was tasteless,...More

Have been to Le Crocodile many times over the years. The last 2 times have been very disappointing. Service was horrible. Dined with 2 other women - one elderly with a walker. Made the reservation 2 weeks in advance. Asked for a quiet table. Upon...More

With such great reviews, perhaps we were expecting too much. Arriving on time at 20.00, we were seated perhaps 10-15 mins later with the first server forgetting to bring us water as he had offered. Better service resumed with the order taken but nothing brought...More

Traditional decor lends a comfortable ambiance to this fine-dining French restaurant, a long-time favourite for Vancouver's fine French cuisine lovers. The lunch menu is 'a la carte' but with a very reasonable 2-course set menu for $23. Naturally, there are delicious 'specials' and I had...More

West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines
verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with
Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a
paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and
perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most
languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset
Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to
take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along

If they have seared foie gras, go for it. I had the delicious scallops with black ink pasta. Anything is good and if you don't like it, they will fix it!

If you like noise, go to one of those corporate chain restaurants with blaring music. None of that at this fine establishment.
