We arrived around 8:00pm without a reservation after a day of sightseeing and dressed in shorts, hoping for a table. We were warmly taken to a table immediately. We ordered a beer and wine and although I wasn't crazy about the first wine they graciously brought another that I liked much more. We ordered main meals only and food just... More

Our daughter and grandsons gave us a gift certificate at Christmas to dine here. We saved it for my birthday 6 months later. We ordered the Lobster tempura salad to share as well as Escargot. Both were delicious. A French Chardonnay accompanied out entrees of Halibut and the 3 fish plate of halibut, salmon and prawns with squid ink linguine.... More

Excellent food. Treated incredibly rudely when we arrived. Table size for six even though reservation for eight. A walk in table of ten had great table set up for them. Restaurant was told when the reservation made that it was a special occasion.

This lovely restaurant offered a menu with classic dishes I rarely see anymore because current trends shy away from cream-based sauces and the like. Unfortunately, I wasn't hungry enough to order as I would have liked. Nonetheless everything I ate was quite good. My favorite was a salad composee of tomatoes, avocado and crab meat. I also had an Alsatian... More

The amuse bouche was a tart, blue cheese, tomato with almonds. This was historic and set the tone for a splendid meal. We both started with asparagus with crab meat....delicious, to follow one chose duck with a cider reduction sauce and I had the fettuccine with lobster and prawns...fantastic. The wine was from Pierre Amadieu and was a gigondas 2013.... More

Our last visit was so disappointing that we will never return. The term in the "weeds" is what we experienced as the hostess, servers and managers were disorganized and looked like they were chickens running around frantically with their heads cut off, likely due to overbooking. We arrived for our reservation and waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged and... More

The service was great at the table, but when we returned the rabbit that we order because the smell and the taste was suspicious on one leg, we were very surprise that we have been charge for it. The rest of the food was very good. Price not so good

Simply delicious. We booked a reservation and were glad we did because it filled up fast. The server was very knowledgable and the food was amazing and so fresh. Great selection of wines, too. I'll be back! Excellent spot for a special occasion as well.

The food here is amazing. I would say the best food in the city. The wine selection was magnificent, the food selection was truly French and the taste was heavenly. We all loved it.

My wife and I visit this restaurant every time we are in Vancouver. A wonderful meal with excellent service in the elegant European style.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
