We had visited this restaurant 10 years ago and were impressed, so on our second visit to Vancouver we wanted to go somewhere special. We booked early to make sure we would get in on a Saturday night. I remember eating caribou on the previous occasion and I love game, particularly venison, and this time I was not disappointed. The... More

While I did feel a little let down with the range of flavour of some of the dishes we tried, I cannot contest that this is a very high quality and extremely well thought out menu.

Excellent food - flavours abound in this traditional French restaurant. Attentive staff, superb food and warm ambiance make for a pleasant evening. No small wonder this establishments consistently rates. The wild mushroom soup accented with truffle oil and lobster are both home runs. Little additions, I.e. potato slivers , were delicious, but highly addictive.

This is one of my favourite Vancouver restaurants. We usually go for lunch. This time I had the steak and my husband had the Leg of Lamb - both delicious. I could almost cut the steak with my fork. I always enjoy the extra accompaniments - the Chef's tart (although this time I didn't care for the blue cheese); the... More

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, amazing experience! The wait staff was so kind and helpful and no matter what you order on the menu, you will not be disappointed! I was here 17 years ago and so glad to have the chance to eat here again! I hope to be back soon!

Utterly fantastic French restaurant. Innovative menu while not straying too far from French classics. The caribou was perfection and so was the foie gras and dessert. The place was packed, even on a Tuesday. We were amused, however, by the fact that every millennial couple in the entire restaurant interacted with their phone more than with their companion. Too bad... More

My daughter and I had lunch at Le Crocodile to celebrate her birthday. Upon arrival we were well greeted and were impressed with the French style and feel of the restaurant. The table we were given was not great as the wait staff kept bumping into us during our meal....we will request a table against a wall for next time.... More

This a favourite restaurant of mine. I visit Vancouver very frequently for family reasons. Le Crocodile is close to Sutton Place and Hotel Vancouver. It is Bistro style, with a warm and sunny atmosphere. The Staff are cheerful and attentive. The food is excellent. This is an easy recommendation to make.

We went there for my mother in laws birthday - 3 adults and a 4 year old. Being fine dining I was a bit nervous about bringing a child in. However the service was amazing! Not at all pretentious and did not at all make me feel like my daughter was out of place. The food is great but the... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
