You have to try it at least one in your life. It is not cheap but you won't be disappointed. The food is very French but the quality and service it top. I am always looking for a diner at the the Croc

Le Crocodile is a Vancouver institution. Very gracious staff. Room is a bit big to be really intimate, but it is still warm and charming in its own way. The menu is extensive and everything is prepared well. On our most recent visit my husband and I both ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings. Excellent value and mainly delicious... More

My wife and I loved Le Crocodile! The room is nicely laid out and the tables are far enough apart for conversation. There is a pleasant buzz without it being too noisy. The patrons are for the most part, nicely dressed; I counted half a dozen men actually wearing ties and several women in black cocktail dresses. For a relatively... More

My wife, mother-in-law, and I had a wonderful lunch today at Le Crocodile, thanks in large part to deft service from waiter Brian Cole. Brian patiently explained the extensive list of daily specials, detailing ingredients and answering our many questions with confidence. An amuse bouche soon arrived - an amazingly light and flaky mini-tarte with caribou, and smoked salmon for... More

We spent our anniversary meal here, sent by our children. Classy without being pretentious, discreet and attentive service by all staff, a delicious meal, the opportunity to linger without feeling pressured, all added to a memorable way to celebrate a special day. The customer service experience was wonderful. We will return, and highly recommend your fine establishment to others.

Visited in February 2015 with my Mum, sister, and friend. They had just discovered this really nice French restaurant in June 2014 and very pleasantly pleased. We went for lunch while in town for a play. We had reservations because it is a popular dining place. Before lunch is served you are served frites. Sevice is very good here. Enjoyed... More

I can't say enough wonderful things about Le Crocodile. There is a very good reason that it is consistently one of the top restaurants in Vancouver. The food was outstanding. Traditional French cuisine done perfectly. The service is excellent. Not a cheap meal, but worth it. Lovely ambiance which while "fancy" is not stuffy. I definitely wore jeans and a... More

Despite the superb French food, it is very difficult to make reservations even when it is well ahead of time.

As I ate RUDOPLH on my previous pre Christmas visit I felt obligated to check on the "others"! All is well. Not to worry! The ELFS in the kitchen are well trained and operate with great efficiency! Reindeer was EXCELLENT, served with spätzle and chanterelle sauce...wow. Memories and great food. Superb service by Brian. Soufflé hit the spot. May Michele... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
