We visited Chambar with a group of 7 and everyone enjoyed themselves and the food. The restaurant is in an older renovated building and was very busy with a real vibe. They offer a good variety of food and an impressive wine list. The food...More

This is a delightful gem in Vancouver. It has patio seating if desired. The food quality is fantastic. Lots of really great food on the menu.

First of all, the servers are fantastic, running up and down a flight of stairs for their orders! Second, they seemed to enjoy their work. Thirdly, the leather clad baguettes were evocative of Indian influences. Finally, the food was a surprise, I ordered Thon Au...More

If you like Belgian food and beer then this is your place in Vancouver. The Fricassée, in particular, was the best I've ever had (I added an extra egg on top).

Went there on a recent Fri night , got seated promptly , had great service throughout. My favorites were the appetizers - sampled a "cerviche" which was fresh ( though not served in the traditional cerviche style ), and the barbecued frog legs were great...More

We almost didn't come here. Wow, that would have been a mistake. After a look at the menu we decided to make a stop here, sat at the bar (the entire restaurant is beautiful btw). The menu was amazing, so many delicious choices. Brendan, our...More

Ostrich capaccio was great. Great presentation and taste. $19.00. My halibut was small, cold and sides of putrid peas also cold. $36.00. Not worth the price although presentation was good. Duck was good but my son said an over complicated dish. DRINKS were adequate but...More

Chambar has been my favourite restaurant in Vancouver since it opened 15 years ago. The new larger space had a few growing pains at first but is back to great service, wonderful food and delicious cocktails - plus they now have a patio!

We went to Chambar for dinner during a girls weekend in Vancouver, and absolutely loved it. The mussels were delicious, and the cocktail and drink menu is very extensive. The service was great as well: servers were knowledgable about the menu, and everyone made sure...More

We only had one night in Vancouver and I looked at all the possible restaurants and chose this one. We were not disappointed! The beer list is exceptional and the ones we tried were very good. The service was also wonderful. We are a fan...More

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of
being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many
plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell
the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular
worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of

There is no formal dress code however they work their butt off in putting quality food in the plate and offer professional service so my philosophy is to not 'underdress". I had a suit no tie.

We make our bread fresh daily inhouse, if you can let me know the date you were in, and describe what you had and I'll see if I can get you a recipe. The starter is 40 years old and not something we can share.
