We were in Vancouver for a concert last night and met up with friends at Chambar for dinner. We ordered wine, appies and entrees and everything was excellent. Our friends ordered a beef appy, I had the rhubarb salad, and my guy also ordered the...More

This was a wonderful change from traditional American breakfast. Get here early because it is very popular. The Cassoulet had chicken sausage with bean in a hot skillet had a fried egg on top, it was delicious. My wife had the Bon Matin which was...More

What’s not to love about Chambar! Everything about it is good. Just sitting there, either inside or on the patio makes you feel upbeat. It hums! The food is consistently great. Love this place!

Highly recommend this restaurant for well prepared and beautifully executed dishes. The entrees were perfectly seasoned with attention to detail. In particular the roasted duck breast dish was fantastic and I would order it again if I had the opportunity. It was accompanied with tender...More

Salmon Spam and mustard lovers paradise! This meal annoyed me. I don't believe that the server had our best interest in mind as she consistently recommended the most expensive menu items. Apps where gross and silly. Paillarde DE Truite; fancy words for fish spam. The...More

Clearly, people who call it Best Restaurant in Vancouver have not eaten at Hawksworth or Bauhaus. I have had brunch at Chambar twice in one month. The first experience was OK, nothing special. I had booked for dinner and had brunch earlier in the day....More

Good restaurants are not that easy to find in Vancouver at least for a very critical French man like I. Chambar was from far the best I tried. Very tasty good looking food, nice atmosphere, good service (no pressure to rush no tip story at...More

On a recent trip to Vancouver, my wife and I dined at Chambar. It was from beginning to end an enjoyable and experience. From the attention paid to us by our server Greta, the quality of the appetizers - we tasted the Coquille St Jacques...More

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of
being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many
plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell
the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular
worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of

We make our bread fresh daily inhouse, if you can let me know the date you were in, and describe what you had and I'll see if I can get you a recipe. The starter is 40 years old and not something we can share.
