Poor food and unfriendly hipster server who asked how the food was and walked away before hearing the answer. Very disappointing. Not what Chambar used to be.

Very pleasant surprise in the heart of Gastown. Tasteful starters and great service. Moderate prices and good wine list.

My wife and I were visiting town and went to eat with friends who live here. Food was great and healthy portions for food prepared with such finesse. Service was attentive yet not overwhelming. Will definitely go back next time back in town.

First: the Blue Fig cocktail is one of the best, most creative cocktails we have ever had! That’s what had us go back the last time. Served with a side of blue cheese, you nibble and sip, nibble and sip and it’s WONDERFUL! We went...More

I find that the staff are very pretentious and I dislike coming here. Unless I have to come for a birthday or someone else has picked it for a special occasion, I avoid at all costs. I have always found the staff extremely pompous and...More

We recently took visitors to Chambar for dinner twice and we must admit that the restaurant is worth the cost, for Chambar is not a cheap place to entertain, or even to share. Service very attentive both times, though we had to ask for our...More

Pointless booming of the Sound system destroyed what would otherwise be a great restaurant. The decor is interesting and the service this good as long as you like classlessly yelling at your friends to be heard.

Mussels are the specialty in this Belgian-themed restaurant, although there a number of other fine choices. You can pick from three mussel recipes and they are served in an enormous ceramic h t pot. Remove the lid & the shells go in there. What fun...More

The restaurant is just outside the Stadium Skytrain Station on Beatty Street and conveniently located close to BC Place where we watched the season’s last game celebrating Fonzie’s farewell. It’s another busy brunch place but We got a table last minute due to a large...More

We make our bread fresh daily inhouse, if you can let me know the date you were in, and describe what you had and I'll see if I can get you a recipe. The starter is 40 years old and not something we can share.
