On the pricey side, but this is definitely a place to splurge for a special occasion. The menu is extensive but everything was on point. The sablefish was absolutely divine. I had never heard of it before and it was melt in your mouth delicious. I can see why this place is #1! (So can the rest of the family).

There are a handful of Vancouver restaurants that have been talked about consistently over the years, and Blue Water is one of them. Perhaps because of its longevity, it is assumed that is the same as it has ever been. On my visit last month it was good, but definitely not great. I shared a seafood tower with 3 friends... More

Upon entering the restaurant you are surrounded by polished wood and metal- an understated elegance with a busy open kitchen. There is a Sushi Bar with all seats taken. The wait staff is friendly and professional- delivering unhurried yet informed service. The menu has multiple choices- but accommodation to dietary requests is no problem. I had a sashimi appetizer- Hamachi... More

We were staying a night in Vancouver after a trip to Whistler and booked this highly reviewed eatery. If you have ever been to Araxi in Whistler village this is definitely built in the same mold by the Toptable group. Very good quality food and service. I mostly focused on sushi since I'm a bit of a fiend for it.... More

I can see that the Blue Water Cafe gets uniformly great reviews, but that was not exactly our experience. The room was crowded and lively, but also quite noisy. The four men at the table next to us were loud and drunk. We began by asking for the sommelier because the wine list is encyclopedic. He would stop by as... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
