Living in a freshwater city makes me yearn for fresh seafood from the ocean- Blue Water answers those cravings!! Try to sablefish/black cod main course and if you go with a group of friends, get as much of the sushi and sashimi as you can! They have a fine selection of fresh oysters as well. Notably, this restaurant is recommended... More

Great food expertly prepared and beautifully presented. We wisely booked the week prior to our visit to Vancouver and were so impressed we returned two days later arriving at opening time and ordering sushi at the bar. On both visits the service was terrific with special mention about the bartenders that were so helpful and friendly taking time on a... More

This restaurant is number one for a reason. We visited on a Monday evening and it was busy, but a great vibe inside and we didn't feel rushed at all. Our waitress was attentive and informative. We ordered sushi for starters and cod and sable fish for mains. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and try more of the delicious... More

One of the best seafood meals we've had in a long time. The "old warehouse" description concerned us until we walked into the restaurant - it just looks great. Very fresh seafood - we had tuna and halibut done perfectly. We had the smaller seafood tower sampler and loved it. Our waiter was excellent and very attentive. Dress is casual... More

Before we went to Vancouver, we checked TripAdvisor for the # 1 restaurant and saw it was the Blue Water Cafe. We went on a Friday night and when we arrived the hostesses asked if we had a reservation. We did not. They were very apologetic, but told us they had no tables available. If we wanted to wait we... I found Blue Water Café via Trip Advisor. We had 3 days in Vancouver and ate dinner here twice. The first time we had dinner, wine and desert. Amazing!!!! The second night we had sushi at the sushi bar. Amazing!!!! The service was fantastic. The food was fantastic. It is an easy walk, if you like to walk, from the... More

Though a bit pricey, the service atmosphere and food quality were outstanding. This was the best meal we had in Vancouver, and I will definitely be back... Ask for a booth-- hey are comfortable, cozy, and a bit quieter than the tables out on the open floor. Great wine list, too...

Three of us dined here on a Thursday evening. There were several large parties in the main room of the restaurant and it was quite noisy. The hostess gave us the option of dining in a smaller wine room and I'm glad we made that choice. It was quiet and I felt like we had a private dinner party. Our... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
