I enjoyed a visit to Blue Water Cafe. The menu is varied and includes locally sourced fish options. I began with a variety of Pacific oysters, followed with a fish entree, and ended with a cheese selection. The bar menu is extensive and there are about a dozen wines by the glass, including some selections from British Columbia. I would... More

Took my Mother here for her birthday in February 2017 and had very high expectations. We did not eat any of the oysters or sushi, so perhaps that was a mistake. Still, after deciding to indulge in the multi-item seafood appetizer for two, then having two entrees and a dessert, there were certainly lots of opportunities given to impress us.... More

Everything good has already been said: huge wine list, nice wines and some are affordable, ordinal menu, great service, a little expensive, attention to detail, but great for that special occasion.

We like the meal but it's not great value. The two fish dishes we had were very well prepared. 5he service was just OK. In all we found it a bit over priced compared to the other great restaurants in VC.

Fabulous, fresh, gorgeous food - seafood to die for - original combinations. Excellent service, lively atmosphere but not too loud.

The food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was superb! Although the restaurant was full, it was not too crowded, not too noisy, our group of 5 could all hear each other talk and enjoy the atmosphere. The food was EXCELLENT! I would have loved to try the bisque but they ran out; maybe next time. It's not cheap, but well... More

We dined here for a single evening whilst flying in from the U.K. This was our first time in Vancouver and the Blue Water Cafe had been recommended by the Vancouver Fairmont Concierge. I have quite mixed feelings about this restaurant. The food.....which I suppose is the most important thing to review about a restaurant....was superb. You really do have... More

Went here with friends and our 4 kids. Got a nice table in the back. This is the place if you like fresh seafood or sushi. As we had children we had some special request which were all taken care of. Waiter kept giving us bottled water without asking if it was ok to open new ones, ended up paying... More

If you want to eat fresh seafood, impeccably prepared, it's hard to do better than the Blue Water Cafe. It's a huge and busy room (the locals as well as tourists keep it filled) but the service is always impeccable.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighborhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
