Bacchus is a delightful lounge and restaurant associated with the Wedgewood Hotel - all proper and British in appearance and service. We had a late lunch on a Saturday while most patrons were enjoying afternoon high tea. Great for special occasions.

Went for lunch at Bacchus with a friend, and had the pleasure of being served by Danielle. She was the perfect combination of professional, engaging and adapting to our needs. Food and other services provided were exceptional and complimented the great service experience provided by Danielle.

Service and food were exquisite, in a relaxed old-world setting. My guest was from London and was very impressed.

I go to Bacchus regularly for lunch, and find the service and food to be consistently very good. An excellent choice for business or after work drinks with friends.

Had breakfast there twice in a week's visit. Fresh-squeezed orange juice and great coffee. I have food allergies and could order gluten-free toast ( with yummy jams) and dairy-free almond milk for the coffee.Try the egg-white omelette. Great service with a European feel. Large front open windows without screens let in cool air and flower boxes full of color under... More

This is the second time I have stopped in here for lunch. I was unimpressed the first time and 2 years later see that the restaurant atmosphere hasn't improved. We were told at the door that we would have to "sit in the back because we had minors with us". Our guests were our 26 year old daughter and her... More

This was my first time at Bacchus and I will be returning here again. Our server (Joel) knew the menu inside and out. He recommended a number of fantastic dishes and paired the wine well with for each dish. I strongly recommend the wild Mushroom risotto. The atmosphere was enjoyable and the live music was a nice touch. I look... More

Staying in Granville Street

Neighborhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
